Those seem valid points. In the end we got zero progress on police reform. We can't know exactly how much effort Joe put into arm twisting. I do know, according to the reports , that Booker and another Senator whose name escapes me worked long and hard to bring enough Republicans on board to overcome a filibuster. (There was probably a couple Democrats who were unwilling to take on the Police Union as well.) I know Biden publicly, at least, always voiced strong support for the bill, but how strong was he behind the scenes? I don't Know. What I do know however is that Trump said he would veto the bill. And that right there indicates a chasm between Biden and Trump on the George Floyd bill. I have a hard time, therefore, understanding the reasoning of anyone that says they would vote for Trump in preference to Biden because Biden was not able to push the Floyd Bill through. In the end don't we have to recognize that the Senate was split 51/50 with the crazy filibuster rule in place, because Sinema and Manchin would not go with a rule change. Biden was weak there too. It's so disappointing to know how much progress was foreclosed on because of those two Senators.
