Whites are a small minority in Memphis. They hold very little power in the Governing of Memphis. Like most cities the Memphis police are majority Black
Yet you blame Whites for this
You are a racist

Which white conservatives in the south opposed ending just as they oppose police reform today. If this country had to depend on cities for change there would still be slavery.
Y’all are talking about everything but the truth when it comes to the overarching policing and racial issues.
The truth is 1. It’s all about poverty. For whatever reason and we can get into that if y’all want black Americans disproportionately are poor and live in poor neighborhoods. This has been status quo since reconstruction.
The higher the poverty rate, the higher crime rate. That’s a fact. It’s not about race at all it’s about poverty.
2. America has become a much more difficult country to police because of the amount of guns in the country. It affects all areas of policing. I know this because I have police in my immediate family. A car stop, a disturbance call, a drunk and disorderly call, all of it has to be treated as though there is a gun present until it known to be not.
Police have to take more affirmative postures when engaging with suspects because they are trained to. It’s better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.
This SCORPION unit was created because of the spike in homicides and gun violence In Memphis. Which of course correlates with the spike in guns in America. It is an aggressive unit in a high poverty, high crime area and it takes an affirmative posture when engaging suspects. And of course these are the results.
The point is that policing is hard in America and we are not actually supporting police. We are asking too much of police.
If we wanted to support police we would address the poverty issue and gun issue.
Now with that said, it is obvious these police killed this guy Memphis with their brutality and indifference and lack of care when in custody. The whole thing is a damn shame just as many before and the many to come.
Memphis is not TN. Memphis is 62.8% Black. Memphis, TN is mostly Black and mostly run by Black, discussing a subject where Black police killed a Black citizen an attempting to blame a White? Oh, its because of slavery? Oh, its because some White guy, somewhere, didn’t do something for the Black man? Have you ever considered the concept of self-governance, from the individual to organized Government? What does it suggest about a person or group relies upon another for their justice? Why can’t Memphis clean their own shit up? What is the common denominator? A correlation or two, perhaps?
What would your buddy Malcolm X say? What did Malcolm X say? He was behind solid solutions 60 plus years ago. Those solutions included getting rid of drugs and Blacks forming their own cohesive community, including to the point of returning to Africa, among other things. Probably 90% of crime is substance abuse related. Substance abuse is the core issue. Democrats add fuel to the fire by being soft on substance abuse related crime leading to ever more outrageous news stories and gaslighting opportunities. If reduced crime were ever a goal, it is failing judging by crime trends.
The media coverage by Leftist news outlets is part of the problem as well. The maintenance of a political narrative for the purpose of gaslighting their base is more important than facts or solutions. Interestingly, “Mostly peaceful demonstrations” time on air coverage has been real low by historical standards, at least compared to Trump’s Presidency. It seems the Liberal media is trying to walk a fine line between a bad look for Biden and an gaslighting opportunity.
By the way, how did Memphis vote in various elections?
