The current democratic party, just like the current republican party, is far removed from their history.
Only ignorant regressives ignore the reality that the name of a party is meaningless, you have to look at the current leadership to determine where a political party is at...not looking back to the past.
The current president, a republican voted in twice by republican supporters, has supported amnesty programs for illegals, seen the spending and size of government increase, etc. etc. etc.
