I support the idea of deterrence. However, how can one be safer than in a cage with law enforcement around? I'm sure the children are being provided with basic needs. Do you really dispute this?
The United States Government, church groups, and U.S. Citizens have likely met the religious "help thy neighbor" doctrine through ample, perhaps world leading, charity group giving such as UNICEF, foreign aid, church and volunteer workers sent to disadvantaged countries to help with their infrastructure needs, and fund raisers with former Presidents Bush and Clinton as spokesman after a natural disaster hits a third world country.
The United States has long been very accommodative and helpful to many people of the world. Although we have had our bad moments, our citizens are rightfully concerned about their economic interests, culture, and security are being reduced by an open borders policy. Our politicians and media have sold out the interests of U.S. Citizens for political benefit.
