Thanks Medved.with IB, the max is 10. With other sources, it can be longer. Yahoo may get you 20, depending on the symbol type. IQFeed has much longer - I believe up to 120 or 180 days (don't remember of the top of my head).
TD Ameritrade - 120.
So basically, very much depends on the data source. Also, if lets say you backfill today for 10 days and in 5 days you backfill again, it will have total of 15 market days of data - MT caches the data.

Thank you for the help. I did exactly as you explained.Your backfill source is explicitly set to IB (look at the Dashboard on the Backfill Source tile, bottom left) Change that to "Smart Source" or "TD Ameritrade", then hit BACKFILL on the chart window
