MedvedTrader (MT)

MT is very handy for customizing charts, with some customizations being very hard to find with other charting software.

I have decided to concentrate on using MT for trading with IB account, as it also has the ability to trade directly from the charts, which is very handy.

Please elaborate a bit more because I can only see some ordinary chart that you posted.

Example: say you want to daytrade 2 day High/Low breakouts, then you will want to see the PDH and PDL on your chart, along with your current DH and DL. This is not possible with TWS, in fact, TWS is greatly lacking when it comes to the chart basics. You can do it in Ninjatrader, but you have to go and search for indicators to download and add in, and more than likely change the indicator to get it working right.

MT has all this catered for in its indicator section, just add a horizontal line and you get a selection box to select various levels. I have already mentioned that I believed Quotetracker to be one the best ever charting programs for daytrading, and MT has all of the QT stuff, and a bit more.

The MT startup layout is slightly diff than QT (QT was easier), but it is not a big issue, as I think the main thing is to have good clear charts that you can customize easily, and the ability to trade from the charts, which MT has both.

Again, in all depends on your objective, but QT charts, and now MT charts, will not be beaten for daytrading, that I know from experience.

Such pretty basic charts can be done in several trading softwares. I still can't see any speciality there. In fact MT's weakness is that it is not a programmable software (AFAICS). So you are dependent on what its developers are willing to include.

That is your opinion, you got mine with examples of what I speak about.

What you use is your own business!

All the best.
