Edit: BTW, I PM'd SarahG this thread link so she could have a chance to respond, I hope she shows up.

That ought to be funny if she does. I went back and read some of
her posts. Seems like a Grade-A noob if you ask me. No wonder
she was all bummed out when she couldn't get QT to work for her...:p

Okay....

Here's what a 2-day 1-minute chart looks like.
From that picture, it seems that your color settings are messed up - You changed the POSITIVE color to be the same as the background. You can even see the gridlines overwritten in places with just white spots. The data is there, you just have it set to draw in a color that you cannot see. Right click on the chart, select COLOR SCHEMES and select the option to edit color schemes. Then set the positive/negative colors to be something reasonable :)

EDIT - oh, and the reason you can see the candles with a higher frequency is because you have QT set to outline candles. If there is enough room on the chart, QT draws an outline around the candle. But with 1 and 3 minute frequency, there isn't enough room for the outline

Are your up candles (bars) white or whatever and they might be
blending in with the chart even though they have black outlines
or whatever?

I admit, that chart does look like crap...

Did any earlier versions of QT do this? Or just the newest one?

I just did an AA chart with IB backfill using white charts with white up candles and black down candles with and without the "outline" choice and my chart looks just like yours no matter what I do.

Might need to pick a different up candle color. (Bars did the same thing).

What color are your candles?

Jerry.....

Now I understand. Thanks for your diligence and helping me to see what I was doing wrong.

I called a local computer store this afternoon and he told me about this free program that would allow me to post a chart. I never knew how before. After a little experimentation, I got it done.

Version.....Thanks for your input also.

AGAIN FOLKS---QUOTETRACKER---A GREAT BARGAIN.

AND THE BEST SUPPORT IN THE BUSINESS.

Thanks Jerry.

BSAM, glad I could help. As for posting a chart, note that QT has built in ability to save the chart to a file. So when you post, all you need to do is just specify that file. You can have it auto save to a previously specified location or prompt you for the location to save to. Refer to the bottom of OPTIONS/EDIT PREFERENCES menu, CHARTS tab, MISC sub-tab.

Click on the chart and hit CTRL+S to trigger the save.
