see, there is another thing for our todo list.....

We do have various APIs that we are working on, just not indicator stuff. Trading and streaming data API for example.

I wouldn't think that you are cheap...I like to think of it like, "its just that you want value for your money"....

I know, I know.....Medved is free....But the feeds are not....It's a no brainer for me....I can use Investor R/T or Ensign for $39.00- $44.00 per month and get EOD one minute Data from ANFutures for a small monthly price (updating daily) and store historical date in Files. I would think that a program like MedVed would see how the marriage of ASCII or CSV files would be a natural addition to their program. A simple import and export function is all thats needed, covering a few formats.

But what do I know? There is a reason why QT does not have this, and beyond the scope of my knowledge...Ha Ha maybe I am the only idiot that wants this capability!

Actually, I use IB for my feed - so it is free for me. I am paying $20 a month for backfill from IQ though. I actually got this mainly to feed an excel worksheet I was using. I'm not using the worksheet any more, so I will probably drop this soon. That leaves me paying $7 a month for a chart package that does everything I need except spreads. This is becoming more and more important to me, so I may have to make some adjustments. I am sure that many would use the features you are wanting - especially if charts could be made with a longer time frame. For me, the ability to chart pairs is by far the greatest need. Good luck with your trading, and thanks for not calling me cheap.:p

If you are feeding the data into Excel, why don't you just get the quotes on the 2 symbols, do the subtraction and chart the result right in excel for the time being?

Thanks for the suggestion, I guess the short answer is that I don't know how. I guess I may have to learn. I also like to have a few MA's and MACD's on the charts. I guess I could learn how to do that too. I think you should just do it for me Jerry.:p
 
Time for me to jump onto the bandwagon with something on my wish list.. I would like something already mentioned. Add the ability to have data for at least 6 months to show daily charts. That is without going to Big Charts etc to see historical charts.

Are you sure you have the chart refresh set low? go to OPTIONS/Edit Preferences menu. CHARTS tab, MISC sub tab - bottom right. Set it to 0.05.

Many times today my chart was lagging behind TWS prices. When there is a fast move up or down, the chart was up to 3 seconds behind printing the bar. Following the fast move, QT then catches up to TWS.

I have freshened up my computer by defragmenting and changed over from fat32 file to ntfs system. Erased QT, TWS and Java and reloaded the latest versions. I have a 600mhz machine with 640 ram with QT and TWS as the only thing running with a DSL connection. 4 charts open and about 10 symbols on the quote screen.

Is my computer just too friggen slow or is there something else I could try.

Wouldn't expect a lag on that setup unless the charts are totally loaded up with every indicator and/or paintbar you could think of and tracking all high volume symbols.

What is the chart refresh rate set to?

Was the chart behind the quote in TWS, or the quote in QT itself?

Was the quote in QT behind TWS? If so, was there a large # displayed below the bandwidth indicator on top left of the portfolio screen (to the right of the START/STOP button)?

Yes you can. As for bugs, there are no known issues with either of the datafeeds as far as the QT software is concerned. As far as the datafeed, Scottrade is one continuous bug, so whether you run production or beta version of QT isn't going to make a difference.

Prophet - there is no "free" backfill. There may be a loophole in their login that allows it, but its not an intended product.

And if you have a problem, you should report it to support@quotetracker.com
