you mean quotes. If entering the symbol on one of the areas that lets you enter multiple symbols at the same time (WatchList or Add Stocks screen), you would want to surround the symbol with single quotes if it has spaces in it.

In general, just enter the symbols into TWS, then look at the end of the DESCRIPTION column to see what the local symbol is, which is what you need to enter into QT.

IB does not currently provide backfill data, though that may change in the future. You can use one of the other datafeeds for backfill including
eSignal

IQFeed

Money.net

Prophet.net

all of which provide multiday backfill data for futures. Yes, you can of course make sure QT is running all the time to get the data

Yes, open one chart, then right click on it and select New Chart... from the popup menu

I tried GLOBEX:@NKDU5 and it doesn't show the CME Nikkei index. Why is that? Am I doing something wrong?

how come sometimes backfilling works and sometimes it doesn't? LIke today it works on stocks but not on futures. Or on some futures.

and more importantly, how do i fix that problem?

What QT version?

What TWS version?

Does nothing backfill or do you get backfill for 1 day but not other days?

QT 3.6.0a Should I upgrade?
(Note: I actually just upgrade to 3.6.3. Same problem)

TWS the latest 848.8

It does backfill. But only PART of the day. It starts at the time I log in. I know when it works it backfills the entire day regardless the time of my log in.

this happens on/off. Some days it backfills the entire day , other days it doesn't. hmm.. thanks.

I did the normal upgrade using QT. And that's the version it gave me. How do I get to 3.6.4E?

And TWS said I'm running the latest version of TWS.
