Meditation and trading

Regarding actual meditation, can anyone recommend me any information sources about teaching me how to do it properly?

Rather then overcomplicating it, you may wish to start by just following your breath. Doing so anchors you in the present because your breath occurs in the present. I found this little diagram on the Internet but unfortunately don't recall the source:

Maybe on book store there are many kinds book with different topic and we can seeking book that has related with meditation, or if on your near place there are mentor about mediation you can joined

Mindfulness In Plain English by Bhante Gunaratana. Very straightforward and complete. I also like Jimmy Sloman's book Nothing, but it's not directly about meditation. More metaphorical but there are parallels to trading in it.

Everybody is different in their mental and physical behavior while trading.

I'll only talk about the physical aspect because the mental side is too complex and often results in debates but I do understand there's a connection between the mental with physical. Thus, if someone has any of the below issues...they need to see a doctor or professional that specializes in these types of stress related ailments.

Some people actually have a physical change in their body while trading such as sweating, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, uneasy stomach, headaches, back problems, loss of appetite, increased appetite and so on. Then when their trading day completes...the physical changes slowly goes back to normal and then it starts all over again the next trading day.

Those particular individuals need to do something soon (not later) to be able to manage that stress while trading because if they don't...trading will no longer be an option for them. Simply, the physical problems will transverse from short term into chronic and that will then have long term consequences or worst...cementing the connection between mental and physical.

Stress can kill.
There is a way to remove stress so it doesn't have to be forever managed. At the risk of attracting attacking feedback from you guys, I will share it! Sit in a comfy chair daily for 15 minutes (or start with 5 and work up to 30) and let yourself feel all the PHYSICAL sensations like those mentioned above (anxiety, tension, etc.). ALLOW the sensations.

We try to get rid of them, but the best way to do so is to welcome them. Be with them. They may lead to other sensations. Allow those too. This can be scary, but over time is a vehicle to release these feelings. They will stop, there is a limit to them. This can be an uncomfortable process but it does work. When you have cleared them out of your body they do not interfere with the trading.

Good post. This book touches on it:

Their UCLA MARC website has free guided meditations, one of which ("Complete Meditation Instructions") has the subject experience whatever emotions or physical sensations that might be passing through. Here's the link:

Just click on the Free Guided Meditations link and go from there.

I'm curious to know where you came across the idea of allowing yourself to experience emotions and physical sensations in order to resolve them. Perhaps I could add it to my reading list.
