McCain's VP Pick

Heres an article that backs up what I've been saying about Evangelicals.
Studies comparing religious belief and I.Q.

[In 2006, a self-published non-peer review study was undertaken[3] to investigate, on a country-by-country level, the possibility of a link between the importance of religion to citizens and their average IQ. The study found that the strength of religious belief in countries was inversely related to their average IQ. The countries with higher IQs on average had significantly lower levels of religious belief than those with lower average IQs. The study has subsequently drawn criticism[citation needed] for neglecting the influence of several critical confounding factors, such as the work of religious institutions in deliberately focusing missionary work in third world countries where educational opportunities are concurrently poor.

In 2007, Danish newspapers reported that a study conducted by controversial intelligence researcher Helmuth Nyborg estimated that atheists' (or "non-believers'") IQs were on average nearly 6 points higher than believers'.[4] The study is based on data from the National Longitudinal Study of Youth, which includes intelligence tests on a representative selection of American youth, where they have also replied to questions about religious belief. "I'm not saying that believing in God makes you dumber. My hypothesis is that people with a low intelligence are more easily drawn toward religions, which give answers that are certain, while people with a high intelligence are more skeptical," says the former professor. [5]

In June 2008, the British online newspapers DailyMail.co.uk[6] and Telegraph.co.uk[7] had articles on a new study performed by Richard Lynn, emeritus professor of psychology at the University of Ulster, where Lynn claims to have found intelligent people less likely to believe in God. The study, published in the scientific journal Intelligence on June 24th 2008, compared religious belief and average national IQs in 137 countries. [8] The conclusion made by the retired professor, though branded "simplistic" by critics, is that religious belief had declined across the 137 nations in the 20th century at the same time as people became more intelligent. "Why should fewer academics believe in God than the general population? I believe it is simply a matter of the IQ. Academics have higher IQs than the general population. Several Gallup poll studies of the general population have shown that those with higher IQs tend not to believe in God," Lynn said to Telegraph.co.uk [7].]

folks.... as you can see they can influence elections because there are so many of them (no abortions so they multiply fast)

Mitt Romney would be rep Candidate if it wasnt for them believing what their leaders told them.

Well,

I don't actually think that religion makes people stupid, but it serves as a simple solution for their "spiritual resolve", while others might be more inclined to study various sciences and see relations different than the authoritarian belief systems that many religions are. Statistics are sometimes deceiving as we know. Personal integrity is something everyone need to function well, and try to understand the environment they live in and the universe at large.

Thus, philosophy and science might be a bit more stimulating intellectually than most religious beliefs.
:)

Sarah Palin certainly does not come across as stupid, although biblical creationism isn't exactly what I'd couple with a sound or sane mind.

IMAO: New McCain/Palin Bumper Stickers

"The McCain campaign has already come out with new bumper stickers. I think these may be particularly focused towards conservatives..."

no it doesn't .....the article said that its the people with lower IQ and the less educated that are more prone to be religious .... i.e. followers......

and we clearly see this.... whether is in the forests of the Amazon, or right here in the US bible belt.... its the same blind need to believe in something. A Shaman or a TV Evangelist .... its the same psychological phenom.

WHY even here in our little community.... it exists ........ the followers of a certain white haired bearded man....................................

This is a STUPID decision by McCain!

Palin is going to pass herself off as a "hockey mom"? Alaskans don't live like the rest of the US of A! No income tax. A check every year from the oil companies! Alaska doesn't need the bridge to nowhere money because it gets plenty from the oil business. How is she going to pass that off as being the same as the rest of the USA??

Romney or Lieberman was the right choice. She brings nothing to the ticket. Hillary supporters are HILLARY supporters, not Generic Woman supporters.

Stupid ass...

Yes taxes..i hate that word too but YES they need to be raised on people of wealth.

If you educate yourself and don't listen to too many liberal profs, you'll eventually find that raising taxes is never the answer. Cutting back on expenses, just like in a business is the answer.

The wealthy are the ones who create the jobs you'll soon be looking for. Ever gotten a job from a poor person?

Gringinho,

You don't know a damn thing about econ. USA has the highest corporate taxes in the World already. It is driving massive amounts of investment overseas. The US actually needs to drop corporate taxes. The problem here is SPENDING! not low taxes.

Have you seen the amazing prosperity of Dubai? I bet you think its from oil right? Wrong. They hardly have any. They have a tax free country, and every corporation on Earth practically has a major operation there now.
And then there is Ireland, the Celtic Tiger. Its amazing success is due to low corporate taxes.

This is one of the main reasons we need the FairTax.

Along with the above also study the Irish Miracle. It puts the nail in the coffin on high corporate tax.

This was a brilliant pick. She's honest. That puts her ahead of any female democrat I can think of. She's pretty. See previous comment. And they are scared to death of her.

I agree...Brilliant...America will eat this up.

The Republican Party in Alaska hates Sarah Palin. So will Schumer, Clinton, Mutha and Pelosi when she gets to Washington.

Than why was she elected if they hate her?

Ben Stein on Fox this morning questioned the Palin pick, but pointed out Americans won't vote for a black man, and most won't vote for an Angry Black Man. He said it, apologized for saying it, but said it was the truth. It probably is.

He 100% right. And I can't stand him.

Decent folks will track to the polls in record numbers for a war hero and gun toting beauty queen w/five kids and a real man for a husband. Barney Frank may even go Republican when he gets a look at Todd. Something for everybody.

Couldn't agree more.

PS> Michael Moore just said something about God blessing us with a storm during the Republican Convention. The storm is a '4'. They should lash the son of a bitch to a pole on the beach with a microphone so we can hear him die. Because '4's kill people. A lot of people. And he's trying to make a political point. Personally, I don't believe in God, because if Michael Moore is in "His" image, it's just too ugly to contemplate.

I am not sure who I can't stand more..........him or Ben Stein........Yup Michael Moore....... Guy is just a total asshole. And I love your description of what they should do to him.
