McCain's VP Pick

Too the point and funny too.

Quote from flytiger:

There are a bunch of normal people out there. They don't live like Hollywood punks. They want a house, a life. They don't desire things not theirs. But they do love their country. Want to bring up their kids in a decent way. Don't like feeling threatened.

Turn on the TV. Britney's pussy, Paris Hilton, rap music, hip hop thugs, gangs - all in the comfort of your own home.

This was a brilliant pick. She's honest. That puts her ahead of any female democrat I can think of. She's pretty. See previous comment. And they are scared to death of her.

Obama has some 400 advisors who are there to tell him what to say about Bill Ayers, Wright, Michelle............ He makes good decisions they tell me. One, not sure if it was right, and he flipped a coin. His choice, we still have Hussein with yellow cake (it was recently shipped to Canada for fuel) and Iran. That's better? After that, downhill. So experience? Being President is looking Presidential, acting Presidential, choosing the right path after seeing 100 solutions to the problem. This isn't even a choice. The Republican Party in Alaska hates Sarah Palin. So will Schumer, Clinton, Mutha and Pelosi when she gets to Washington. That, folks, is where your money is going. This is a breath of fresh air.

Ben Stein on Fox this morning questioned the Palin pick, but pointed out Americans won't vote for a black man, and most won't vote for an Angry Black Man. He said it, apologized for saying it, but said it was the truth. It probably is.

Decent folks will track to the polls in record numbers for a war hero and gun toting beauty queen w/five kids and a real man for a husband. Barney Frank may even go Republican when he gets a look at Todd. Something for everybody.

PS> Michael Moore just said something about God blessing us with a storm during the Republican Convention. The storm is a '4'. They should lash the son of a bitch to a pole on the beach with a microphone so we can hear him die. Because '4's kill people. A lot of people. And he's trying to make a political point. Personally, I don't believe in God, because if Michael Moore is in "His" image, it's just too ugly to contemplate.

Quote from Gringinho:

Jayford,

I didn't say a special revenue tax is helpful for balancing energy prices - I do believe in the role of the market itself. But without the flexible taxation, there will become an uneven burden on consumers to carry the fluctuation of energy pricing. Now that energy pricing in general is very regulated in USA, there is no escaping also having a sufficient taxation system.

If US society was structured differently, maybe some of the measures necessary to help USA transition and adapt to the changing real conditions of the world, would not be increased taxation. But it is a reality, and the problem needs fixing.

There is nothing socialist in fixing a system that is in no way Laissez-faire or free market at all. The US uses more in subsidies than anyone else I can think of, although this is by virtue of having a large economy.
:D

We really need to move this to another thread Gring. Why don't you start one somewhere in politics or economics. I will pop in. This is supposed to be about Palin.

OK? So what are your ideas? You haven't actually posted any solutions. No offense, but you'd make a great politician.

I believe you meant to say energy pricing in the US is UNregulated. There are caps on electricity, but fuel is purely up to the market.

So how would your flexible taxes work? I have not heard anything like this, and I am an economist (yes, a real one).

Some of you guys have no clue.
Either that, or you are doing some serious drugs.

I continue to be amazed at the amount of people here posting such nonsense about how Democratic women voters will be attracted to Palin's ultra-conservative positions - - - including Palin's PRO-LIFE stance.

Go ahead and stand outside of a Democratic Town Hall and tell the Democratic women there that you have a PRO-LIFE candidate speaking inside . . . Then tell me how many women show up.

Answer: ZERO.

This Palin stunt by McCain will start falling apart like a house of cards in less time than people realize.

McCain insulted women with this pick!!
(Sorry but, I already explained why in another post)

McCain insulted Reps with this pick!

McCain pissed of the Clintons big time with this pick!

McCain will have to endure onslaught by media, and by Dems. His back up will be:
Reps who are no longer energized as they were before this pick...(even though they are putting up a brave front)
And his other backup.... Evangelicals ... who are over joyed with this pick!

Evangelicals... who fall in line to what ever their leader says...(everyone knows evangelicals have lower IQ than normal people.... I mean for petes sake... they believe in fairy tales)

Evangelicals..... who can not think for them selves and are close minded. (They reject scientific facts, and substitute it with their own "child like" beliefs.

Evangelicals... who are bigots to others who are not like them.

So thats McCains only true back up....

MCCAIN.... Picks a hockey mom to be potentially the leader of the greatest country in the world.

Only a blind thick headed ..... non rational thinking..... evangelical right wing radical.... thinks that this was a good pick.

(I am a republican by the way)

BRAVO!

Made my weekend by showing that regardless of what views or so-called political party we adopt, we all should admit and accept when those that are our so-called leaders mess up big time and put us all in jeopardy.

I don't care if Sarah is the nicest person in this Country. She is NOT ready to assume the presidency. It truly bothers me that we listened to one year of B.S. about Obama's credentials and then this moron goes and out of desperation picks another less experienced candidate. Yep that's what we need at the most challenging times in recent moemory.... a dumbing down of our elected leaders!

Sorry... I respected John McCain in general............ but he made an error this time and in so doing placed this country in jeopardy in the name of his winning an election! What a disappointment !!

If the republicans could be honest, how would they answer the question?

Of the picks that were talked about, i.e. Rudy, Romney, etc. is Palin really the most qualified to assume the presidency in a time of war?

Let's now forget time of war, right?

LOL!

Jayford,

as you know - electricity is not unrelated to transportation costs - cue electrical motors, compressed air engines etc.

My basic point was quite simple. There are imbalances because of the exaggerated spending. The economy is a (sometimes) "carefully balanced system", but dynamic in nature of course. Since parts of this economy is strongly regulated, there is no escaping adjusting to these imbalances - and taxation is one such tool. When energy prices are sky-rocketing, it is not useful to have all the costs falling on consumers - who play a very central role to the US economy. The necessary balancing act is through taxing, amongst other measures, the energy companies who are reaping the profits from this imbalance right now.

Some parts of the world have a very unregulated electricity market, while the US has a strongly regulated electricity market. That has to change as well, and is contributing to the current imbalance and dependence on cheap petroleum access.

It is a systemic failure that we are witnessing, and it's nothing wrong with the markets themselves. Politicians just like to blame speculators, as the paranoid reaction to imbalances, like I mentioned in the "New world order"-thread. Speculations, derivatives and the futures markets are very important to balancing and offsetting the strong fluctuations of prices in a market - and this is how they originated. Although the uninformed general public unfairly think of them/us as parasites.

:)

I have nothing against Palin. She is just the wrong (strategical) pick for this election. Had we been coming off a Bill Clinton 8 yr term.... she would be PERFECT!! (strategically)

But we are in a point where the country is tired of Bush.... tired of Reps and their views and policies... .... Palin's views are to the right of McCain.... makes no sense to bring her on.

Mitt Romney would be the rep candidate right now if it wasnt for those damn evangelicals that believe everything their leaders tell them..... because they have low mental horse power.

Real independents don't have a hatred of liberal or conservative, they are independent of that type of irrational bias...

Claiming to be a Right wing independent is an oxymoron...

Don't you know, you are either with us or against us, not independent of us?

LMAO...

Quote from Jayford:

Don't kid yourself. I bet half the women were for Hillary cause she is a woman. And Palin isn't a raging bitch like Hillary.

I am also Independent BTW, but I have a deep hatred of everything liberal, so if no Independents outside the mainstream are in the running, I vote against the liberals.

Laissez-faire is a great principle towards having free markets in my opinion.

I consider myself some kind of antinomian - but that is kind of an oxymoron itself, and I'm certainly not religious in any sense of having any faith, but rather favour the post-structuralist views as a decent way to understand some limited aspects the world. I have professional training in systems analysis, informatics, mathematics (especially logics) and use science rather than "spiritual insight" to express models of knowledge. Economics and financial theory is just as interesting as artificial intelligence, philosophy, bio-chemistry, physics and the theories around singularity.

Some friends of mine have founded libertarian political parties and others are strongly rooted in anarchocapitalistic parties. However, I think that direct democracy is the way to go - coupled with transhumanism, a structural help for stronger, more dynamic and efficient sociological models for the future and ensuring the integrity of society while empowering the individuals participating in society with security, choice, free-will and more freedom.

Somehow, I don't think any VP pick is significant to how society will be evolving at the scale which could be considered a decision affecting everyone in the US. It's really all just a lot of noise for a tine change to an already corrupt and over-complicated process, where a lot stand to gain from continuing having such a entertainment show of a political system. Many obviously feel estranged towards the whole process, and know that little will change - as do Europeans with regards to how USA will behave in trade talks or defence strategy. It's all just a lot of "hoo-ha".
:)

man...... alot of right wing pundits keep bringing up how Palin is a hero for having a baby she knew had down syndrome .......................................... if the rumors ever prove to be true......

This is the most exiting politics in a long long time.

Its funny.... if you watch the news channels... they are bringing up the SAME exact points we're making here..... almost word per word.. remarkable
