from what i remember of what i read then,Pabst had been around long enough that he would probably never be broke,seasoned trader,most likely had already learned about going broke a few times,had learned to not make those mistakes ever again..but that's again just a hunch..no proof

I don't care though, when i hear something I know to be false or just plain stupid I sometimes can't fight back the urge to call them out.

Anyway while i like P&R, this racism shit is ruining the entertainment factor for me. In threads that start out having nothing to do with race, posts that have nothing to do with race, people are getting labeled racists, its totally lame dude.

I think you have to take fights on here with a grain of salt. Ron, doesn't hate me, he wants to be right. It's ego. Most people who know me in real life would describe me as argumentative. Meaning I'll argue with conservatives, liberals or libertarians. I just think conversations are boring when everyone nods their head and agrees to everything. So Ron and I could certainly have a lively convo. I don't think it would get heated and I think Ron would be surprised at some of my "liberal" leanings. Hell my father thinks I'm a far left guy now that I live in Chicago. He thinks that only because I tend to take the other side of his views if only to challenge his ideas.

I agree, the calling everyone a racist bit makes it hard to have dialogue down here but you have to understand that when someone does that, they are simply trying to avoid talking about the topic at hand. It's simply a strategy for them. I get that. It gets really old and I've tried asking them to stop it and so far, with no success.

Well you won't like this post then.. but I pretty much agree with everything you said. Most of us in P&R are argumentative by nature, I can't really think of any poster that comes down here just to take part in their sides threads.. it would be sucky and boring if that were the case.

Maverick74 is a mensch. He isn't particularly bothered by difficult people and is equipped to deal effectively with them.

My disposition is not so sunny and I'm less well-equipped. At some point pspr convinced me to place a few key people on my ignore list and I must admit that it completely transformed P&R for the better.

If you think about it there are really only two people consistently pointing the finger and shouting racism. Putting those two on ignore completely eliminated the racism_as_a_blunt_object element from this forum, at least to my eye.

Ha I guess you're right. Aside from the two that try to make everything about race, others have started using the same weak ass tactic. It is basically trolling and it ruins otherwise 'normal' discussion, but I think I'm just going to adjust to it. I refuse to apply ignore, I post here to argue and I want/need to see posts from those that I disagree with the most. Gotta take the good with the bad.. no rules in the basement.

btw I am surprised brass doesn't have me on ignore. I figured I was on his list for sure because I hadn't been the target of his drive by one liners in like, months. lol
