Materialists

Being an atheist does NOT mean that you agree with any of the following:

1) An extreme form of skepticism that denies all existence.
2) A doctrine holding that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated.
3) Rejection of all distinctions in moral or religious value and a willingness to repudiate all previous theories of morality or religious belief.
4) The belief that destruction of existing political or social institutions is necessary for future improvement.



So what part doesnt fit?? How about ALL OF IT :D

In fact... I dont know a SINGLE atheist that REMOTELY
supports ANY of the above.
Not only that, I actually believe exactly the OPPOSITE
and im an atheist.

I was quite shocked that darkhorse would make such a blatantly
false statement. Maybe he doesnt have a CLUE what
atheism is??? I would expect such an absurd statement
from someone completely uneducated on atheism, such
as a severely brain washed church goer who hasn't studied
anything else, but not from someone like darkhorse.
Perhaps ive overestimated him.

The subject of this thread is not about what atheists believe it is about the characteristics they display. That is what "fits".

I don't think that's his complete position though. I think it's more like, If God doesn't exist then nothing matters and everything is meaningless.

A position based on the illogic that if something doesn't ultimately matter it doesn't matter at any point along the way. (How about its corollary:if something matters once then it ultimately matters!)

And if that isn't illogical, then if my leaky roof pisses me off enough to fix it, I must then and there admit there is a God. (Otherwise my leaky roof wouldn't really matter to me.)

There is a pattern here of attacks and insults amd name calling over many threads and subjects that definitely defines the attacker that is common to all those activities. And we are told that this is the more lgoical way to higher ground. Interesting perspective.

It was Bertram Russell the atheist who once said, "Unless you assume the existence of God, then the purpose and meaning of life is irrelevant."

Which then leads you to the power theory.

If you do not believe in God. Then you really can not say Michael Jackson is wrong for sleeping with boys or Osama bin laden is wrong for blowing up buildings with people in them. It is all about being strong enough to be the criminal rather than the victim.


In the end without God you are full of nothing or you are full of shit.

With God you are either right or you are full of shit.

If you think about it there is only one intelligent choice.
