If people make childish or stupid remarks, I put myself at their (lower) level of intelligence. If not communication becomes impossible. Recent times I have to do this more and more on ET.

I was speaking about people on ET, not about children, although I sometimes think there are children posting on ET.
On ET I see there are clearly some adults with childish behavior. For them I adapt myself.
