You’ve obviously never worked for a living. Talking like Americans have access to a wealth of vacation and sick days is just ignorant.

The US economy is a juggernaut. There’s plenty of wealth, we can certainly afford the holiday.

The biggest problem is this holiday is not needed regardless its affordability or anything else. This holiday is really a political appeasement move by this administration to hide its incompetence all at the expense of everyone else and doesn't really change anything.

That is one example.. I can list numerous other countries that have more holidays than us..... why everyone upset over one more bank holiday in late June when a lot of people start to go on vacation anyway...

Columbus Day is a bullshit holiday, at least this one marks a major event in U.S. history like July 4th or Veteran's Day.

Exactly that's why I proposed having no holidays except New Year's Eve and New Year's Day And then we just take days off when needed in addition to weekends. So much easier that way and so much more flexibility. Nothing forced on people is ever good, even holidays.

You obviously weren't here during the beginning of the pandemic. There was this guy who was going crazy here accusing Asians of starting the pandemic and saying all kinds of crazy s*** against Asians.

I can't speak for Americans but where I'm from, actual assault or rape on a woman has always been taken seriously, at least as long as I've been alive. Nothing much has changed in this regard.

Metoo tried to push the agenda that if a woman sleeps with a movie producer willingly for a promise of a movie role, if that role falls through, she can change her mind and decide it was rape months later. That's absurd but hey, it's nearly impossible to prove unless you have witnesses. To me it just looks like sex is just a currency in Hollywood.

Women have been using rape/abuse accusations to achieve things for a long time, not all but more than a few. Amber Heard isn't a very rare case, there's plenty more just like her. It's done because it works so well. If we didn't have recordings on the Depp/Heard case, Depp would likely be in jail now. Makes you wonder how many innocent men were locked up before smartphones became ubiquitous.

To me, racism is still alive and well and it's most prevalent among blacks. There's so many ridiculous claims and cries of racism that the word itself has become a meme. You'll see black people aggressively confronting random whites for "cultural appropriation", violently assaulting Asians, using more racist slurs than any other race and doing it openly. So for me, when I hear claims of "racism" by black people, my first reaction is that of laughter, the word has been overused to the point of not having any power.

I don't know why the lier is given airtime. NBC Dateline is supposed to be a reputable news program. They really have nothing else newsworthy to report and they have to stoop this low to interview a lier, a cheater and a spouse abuser?

It was a response to the claim that blacks are the most racist but on a per capita basis, in my experience, whites are the most racist, followed by Asians. Blacks may do the most violent crime, however, that I will agree.

I wonder when anyone is ever going to recognize the horror that were the African tribal leaders who were the ones who owned the slaves, and sold them to the white man for profits? Why don't we hear about that side of the story?
