Every civilization took slaves of captors from the losing side. But white europeans basically created the trade of bringing slaves out of Africa and creating the institution in the new world. Once that started and the money was rolling in, the maintained that trade for over a century. If there were no European buyers rushing to ship off slaves to all the Americas there would not have been slavery like the scale we saw. Africans were not forcing captors across the ocean and dumping them on the shores. Who was responsible for the 150 years or so of slavery in the U.S. and the treatment of those slaves and the treatment of Black people for 100 years after the end of slavery? Africans or Americans.
Not sure why you are so desparate to look for an excuse to slavery in Africans when white europeans created the entire slave trade in the Americas to begin with.
You act like poor Americans had no choice but to own slaves because Africans were shoving these people down their throats...
Europeans conquered numerous portions of Africa and basically used the people to bring them slaves or presented them with financial incentives. Otherwise Africans would just have taken slaves from defeated tribes like we saw in EUrope, Asia and even among the SOuth American tribes.
No, you misunderstand me. I am saying that I believe that if the African slave owners simply did not do business with the WASP slave traders, we would not have the huge issue we had during the great slave trading of the 1800s.

What I am saying is...If the African slave owners refused to sell their slaves to the white Euros, then maybe the slave trade would have ended then and there, or would not have been so prevalent.

yes...europeans never entered other lands and took people against their will....slavery wasnt even in their heads until Africans presented it to them right? European came with guns and arms and would have turned around and went home if people of Africa said "Uh..no.."
What you are saying is slavery was never a thing until Africans came and pointed weapons at the europeans heads and told then to take these captives to the new world..put 300 on a ship..enslave them...rape and beat them....make them work until they die... and come back for more or we will wipe out all europeans from the face of the earth.
