Unless you are an experienced lawyer and sat in the courtroom for the entire proceeding, you have no basis to say that. Much if not all of their case depended upon the testimony of a dirtball who worked for Manafort and who was facing serious time himself. So he blamed it all on Manafort. A jury could easily look at that skeptically and decide that in the context of a political witch hunt, they weren't going along.
The judge was not "anti prosecution." He knows what he is doing and wasn't putting up with the crap Mueller's lawyers tried to pull.
Nah. They did. they showed him using foreign accounts for domestic purchases and income that doesn’t add up. It was a solid case.
Witnesses flip all the time and the prisons are full of criminals that had their criminal partners turn on them. The defense always tries to undermine these witnesses but they are golden. In this case I forget the guys name, but not only did he provide first hand accounts of the criminal schemes he and manafort engaged in, he walked through The Who, what, where, when and why. Solid stuff.
The jury could certainly come out with a few not guilty votes but that is something to be understood is a possibility.
As to the witch hunt and political interference. Yes, once again Trump has disgraced the office he assumes. As to the prosecution they have no choice in going after crimes “in plain sight” they come across in their investigation.
This judge was biased from the very beginning but you won’t hear me cry about it, it’s just a fact. I know our system is imperfect and full of imperfect people but it’s the system we have and we all have to accept the outcome.
