No drug money busts. Did fire many employees for doing or having drugs on the premises. I do remember about eight employees who were using the store as a drug headquarters...buying and selling with each other and friends coming in for their part...nothing large as far as money was concerned. We did bust a store manager who did cocaine in his office frequently. One of the corporations wouldn't allow any firearms in their vehicles while at work...not even the trunk...we fired a few for that. I'm sure many employees tried the disability fraud game...that's complicated because of the insurance companies involved...I didn't get involved with that too much. Of course, we always seem to have a drunken homeless person laying down in the middle of the aisle and yelling for help...there would always be a small battery next to them claiming they slipped.
The gangs...I hated the gangs. The fuckers were always trying to pull shit. One gang we called "the grab and run gang". They would enter the store in a large group of say, ten to fifteen members, and half of them would grab whatever merchandise (loot) they wanted and the others would be lookouts. Basically they would all run out the doors with their loot and jump into awaiting getaway vehicles. Many times we didn't know they came into the store in the first place and if we did, what could we do? We're outnumbered and they probably have guns. So, just call the police again. I'm not making this shit up...sounds like a movie doesn't it.
It's difficult to remember everything, but things are definitely coming back to me. Haven't thought about this stuff in a long time.
