Uh...yeah. The vast majority of racism I see is not based on a superior race mentality, but on fear that has statistical backing. It is prejudice/stereotyping, not so much white supremacy. This was not the case 100 years ago.

I think most people see it as cultural. Even on FOX a news they frame it that way. The crime spikes didn’t begin until the urbanization of black people. Poor urban people are simply more prone to gang-related activity as the demand for illicit behavior introduces a supply. The people who see blacks as inherently violent are a minority. Recognizing the amount of crime from the black community is an important step towards fixing a lot of the problems.

You don’t think that seeing the data, hearing stories, and turning on the local news is not influencing people’s perceptions? Really? Go walk down inner city blocks tough guy. Tell me how safe you feel. I know several people who’ve been jumped. I have black friends, but one of them told me that they were a minority. Most aren’t able to escape the culture. This is a liberal black doctor who has protested with BLM. I am educated. I know the history. I know the events that led to the situation black people are in today. If you can’t point the finger at black people and say that they too need to make some changes for things to work when it’s appropriate you’re the one being racist. I’ve lost all hope for racism ending in my lifetime. It’s clear to me that both sides of the argument just want to hate each other. Nobody wants to solve the problems. I have not seen any serious police reform proposals that will change the situation, because there’s no way to change the bias towards black people unless the economic conditions improve in the black demographics.
