The first thing that popped into my head was that someone else could have loaded his chair, and helped his into his car? However, how does a paraplegic get his wheel chair in the back of a sedan single-handed?

How does he drive? Again, didn’t get a good look but I didn’t see the normal hand controls up by the steering wheel. The first thing that popped into my head was that someone else could have loaded his chair, and helped his into his car?

I can understand someone with severe disabilities needing help from time to time but I’d like to believe that most people like to live their lives without being dependent on others as much as possible.
I would want to be able to load and drive myself.
dude may just be poor AF and not have a handicapable vehicle. Could be partially handicapped

What does that even mean? While the driver refused to exit the vehicle even with the police officer offering help, in today’s environment you just can’t do that.

chair/bed bound people can't be man handled like that....all kinds of skin/bone/joint issues go wrong due to lack of mobility. Shit that can go unnoticed/unattended due to no feeling.
Surely we can understand him not wanting to be manhandled by some random cop ... especially with their reputation "in today's environment."This was bothering me so I took a close look thru the video and enlarged it, the driver does have hand controls, I didn’t see them on a quick look which was why I had doubts.

Regardless of disability, you still need to comply but the officers were over the line here.

Only lawful 'orders.' And not if they could likely result in death or great bodily harm.Regardless of someone’s disability they are still required to follow a commissioned peace officer’s instructions.
what emotions? You're the one brining up "today's environment". I'm merely stating facts paraplegic people face.Shelve your emotions for a minute.
Regardless of someone’s disability they are still required to follow a commissioned peace officer’s instructions.
At what point does it become resisting arrest? 15 minutes, 1 hour, 1day.
The officer’s should have handled the situation differently, but at the same time the driver should have complied with the officers instructions, let the officer help him exit the vehicle, it would have ended very differently.
Officer’s are trained to control the situation, believe it or not it saves lives. When you resist instructions it only compounds the situation.
