Yes but as unfair as it is, if the guy came out of the car and ran his sword all the way through one of the kids because his car got hit with a rock, he would be arrested for murder. First of all he has no idea which kid threw the rock or bottle. The law does not play games of you get the right to kill someone because they threw a rock at your car, it is called vigilantism and police and DAs frown on that.
That is why JR is still guilty of assault and the sword carrier is lucky he only scared them off and did catch one to bury his sword like King Arthur
Maybe his intent was only to scare them off? The fact of the matter is that his was attempted assault and the other was assault. At the end of the day, there is no reason to support the one and not the other.
Incidentally, JR stopped assaulting because he was pressured to. Who knows how far it would have gone had no one said to stop or tried to stop him. Not you, not I. Just another example of people looking at one scenario in one light, and the other in another. And probably because of skin color.
