Where can I see these affidavits? I didn't realize any of that had been made available to the public yet. You make it sound as though there are affidavits from other than Ford, Judge and Kavanaugh stating; "the events described by Ford involving Kavanaugh never happened with them as witnesses." That would be ridiculous if executed by anyone other than Judge.
You have been implying several witnesses haven't you? But according to Fords testimony there is only one witness to the alleged assault. That would be, Judge. There is one accused, Kavanaugh. And there is one victim, Ford. You or I, or anyone besides Judge, could make the statement above as an affidavit, no problem: "The events described by Ford involving Kavanaugh never happened with [me] as [a] witness." But that would be ridiculous.
Now if Judge signed a sworn affidavit with those exact words, I'd like to see it. It think he might have. But if a sworn affidavit from Judge exists, why then did Grassley keep referring to two letters, only one signed by Judge. Why didn't he mention the affidavit? Why didn't Leahy in his long statement this morning mention an affidavit from Judge, instead of only the letters? An affidavit would be far more powerful than the letters. Even more compelling would be Judges cross examination under oath. I looked for a sworn affidavit from Judge, but couldn't find one. All I could find was hearsay. I am not saying an affidavit doesn't exist, I'm only saying I couldn't turn it up after a Google search of a few minutes. Do you have link to the PDF? By now there must be at least one PDF posted by the boys in St. Petersburg or on zerohedge.
Again,
only one person could credibly execute such an affidavit as you describe, that would be Judge. Can you say for certain that Judge executed such an affidavit? Is your certainty based on reliable confirmation? Or is it based on hearsay perhaps from news or social media. Because i have reason to believe that such affidavit from Judge does not exist. I don't think a related, sworn affidavit exists from Kavanaugh either, stating that he did not sexually assault Ford , but it could. It would be consistent with his statements made under oath to the committee.
The Senate, the American public, and you and I, are trying to get the truth from three people, and at least two of them have given us reason to think they are being evasive, and they have a motive for such. The third person would not seem to have any motive to be evasive. At least for that third person a believable motive has not yet been identified. But certainly there has been plenty of unfounded innuendoes. Responsible persons, trying to get to the truth, will of course ignore these innuendoes. I want to know if Kavanaugh is lying about a very serious matter. That is more important to me personally than whether he assaulted Ford as a teenager, as horrible, if true, as that must have been for her.
Senator Patrick Leahy stated this morning some specific lies that Kavanaugh told under oath to the committee. However, Leahy did not bring up some additional lies that Kavanaugh told when questioned yesterday about the meaning of two things written in his yearbook. It would be impossible for Kavanaugh not to have known what the real meanings were. But he lied.
Kavanaugh told little lies that millions of Americans, if they had been in high school at the time he was, would have immediately recognized as lies. If he would tell a lie so easily exposed under oath, would he tell a great big lie?
The spectacle of the hearing and testimony has riveted my attention. At times I found it spellbinding. Now I want to block out the grandstanding, the arm waving, the accusations, the shouting, the rude interruptions, and go to the meat of the issue. Who is telling the Truth? Both Kavanaugh and Ford can't be correct. One of them is lying. I want the truth. Lets concentrate on what we know for sure and can confirm, and if we are uncertain, let's say so. ..
