This quote from my post is a very poor example of an ad hominem remark. It is not an ad hominem remark aimed at you, nor may it be correctly characterized as one aimed at Trump. You could say I have indirectly impugned Trump's character. But in any case it is incorrect to use the phrase ad hominem to describe my remark. You owe the Latin Language an apology, jem , for desecration. :D

I should explain my remark to you. The clever remark I made, out of politeness to you, jem, makes it clear how one constructs a misleading statement, if one is so inclined. It's an excellent example of such! Trump can misleadingly say, "Piezoe says, ' It didn't happen!'" After all, I did in fact say that, didn't I?

Jem, if I wanted to level an overt ad hominem attack against you, I assure you, I know how to do it. I could post for example this:

"You are an unlicensed paralegal who stayed at the Holidayinn Express last night."​

Though it serves the purpose, this is, of course, a clumsy example; not at all clever. Perhaps this particular example will have a familiar ring to you.:rolleyes:
