I'm going to give it another few days for something to happen.

I live in Chicago, IL. Well, I picked futures as a vehicle from what I have read in different forums...

Are there any good chatting service to join? I wouldn't mind paying a fee for it...
Another question is who is the best scalper or daytrader in this site? As a matter of fact, who is the best trader? Anyone in Chicago area?...
Quote from MrJohnGalt:
...please understand that I am serious about looking for a mentor around the Chicago area...

OK... here's the deal and I'll make it simple.
Post a copy of your account statement, if you are willing to mentor me. Let's take it from there and no more Chit Chatting. Everyone talking is talking big like they're the Top Dog but no one shows any sort of record.
Post the statement, then let's start talking about the deal. Honestly, if the guys in here, who is willing to mentor is legit, I'm sure they have the confidence to post their statement.
There's too much talk and no proof. Also, too much snake-oils...

It seems to me that Don Bright may have put you up to the challenge of asking people for their statements.
Trust me no one will post them for you so don't wait for it to happen.
Just as if you where to ask someone to post a naked picture of their wives it would not happen. (At least by any decent respectful man)
Money is a personal thing and as such is respected by those that have worked hard to acquire it.
SO STOP ASKING, IT IS INSULTING AND DISRESPECTFUL.
As far as Don Bright goes, be smart insist that he shows you his and MANY of his successfully trained students statements. If he is going to be so bold to ask you to embarrasse yourself here in this forum with this stupid request, I think he should be held to the same standard.
If he does and your satisfied with them then go and work for the man. I have nothing against him and I do believe he provides a good service, just as good as your going to get anywhere else probably.
The issue here is not weather or not you are able to find a mentor, there are 20 web sites offering this service for a fee. The issue is will it be the RIGHT mentor for you.

Waiting for something to happen may be the reason you are looking so hard for a mentor.
Even if you find as mentor who has good proven advice (which it seems like thee are some good ones here), AND is willing to take the time out of his trading day to teach you.......
you will eventually figure out that you can learn 10 different styles of trading........
and may never be comfortable trading any of them if they don't fit your personality. The reason I bring this up is that if you aren't 100% comfortable in the system, you won't take 100% of the trades, which will prevent the systems edge from playing itself out. You will second guess and cherry pick trades.
My point being, that whether you find a good mentor or not, YOU still need to do alot of real trading on your own to develop a trading plan that suits you. Realistically speaking that can take a couple of years.
I don't care how much back testing you have done.....you still need live trading under your belt for you to be able to understand any education you may get. You will find that stuff you may learn today may not be "understood" for another 6 months.
I hope you find what you are looking for, but please stop whining and waiting for someone to hand "it" to you or prove to you through audited statements.
Make some trades and take some lumps and constantly refine your plan from what you learn.
Sorry to be so blunt but your post "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"
got me started.

You obviously missed my point.Quote from MrJohnGalt:
I already have nitro as a mentor. At least, that's what I think... ummm... actually, I'm going to nitro's pad and cry over all the abuses in ET... and annoy him...

It's rather interesting how people are. They demand respect from someone claiming to have a lower skill or competency and tend to kiss ass towards someone superior to you. Ain't that funny... and some call it "helping".
"I help you, so you give me respect!" Awkward ain't it?
