Looking for a mentor.

OK... here's the deal and I'll make it simple.

Post a copy of your account statement, if you are willing to mentor me. Let's take it from there and no more Chit Chatting. Everyone talking is talking big like they're the Top Dog but no one shows any sort of record.

Post the statement, then let's start talking about the deal. Honestly, if the guys in here, who is willing to mentor is legit, I'm sure they have the confidence to post their statement.

There's too much talk and no proof. Also, too much snake-oils.

PS. I will be visiting some prop. firms this week. Thank you for all the sincere advices.

Maybe you should read Trading In The Zone by Mark Douglas again.

Do you completely accept the risk associated with a trade?
The result of any trade will be either in a gain, loss or breakeven.
If you have accepted that fact then what is there to worry about?

Find a trading system that suites your personality.
60-70% Win Ratio, 1:1 Risk/Reward

Follow your system exactly and trade a small size that you
won't worry if you lose 10 trades in a row.
Increase size when you build up your confidence.

If you're losing money with your system, it's probably one of two reasons
1. You're not following the signals
2. Your system doesn't really have an edge

I believe that you have actually heard some VERY good advise in that it is important to know yourself and what intellectual/psychological obstacles that lie within you?

It does not matter that someone mentor you and spend time with you if once you get on your own you can't pull the trigger?
or if you are unable to stick with the trading plan because of inevitable drawdowns?

I could give a 2yr old the keys to the lamborghini but will he be able to drive it?

Perhaps the 2yr old is better suited for the tricycle with training wheels or some sort of push toy until they can reach maturity?

From what I gather you DO have the statistical analytical bent and therefore that could be helpful ..........but then again it could also be your downfall if you think that you know everything and are infact unteachable although you declare to be a willing student.

Remember, keep is simple.
Simple things often confound the wise.

If you are ever in the Washington D.C. area I would be willing to have you come to the trading room and sit down beside me as I trade.

You would also have the privilege of seeing me do the radio show live along with the live mentor chat sessions.

Also, Why don't you read the journal section?

Specifically, NOPMPlease and dbphoenix?

They are packed FULL of insightful learning tools for newbies.

And arguably the BEST journals on ET.

You might find that you are NOT suited for program systems trading or NOT to trade at all.:(

If you can not master simple concepts and some of the older systems that have been around for a long time then maybe you have not developed a good premise on which to test your theory.

Remember, a system is only as good as the trader who programmed it.

So if you are trading a mechanical system make sure you have found a TRUE exploitable edge!

Finally, check out my "2 Bar Charlie Live Demo" thread and play around with that strategy for a while.

See what you can come up with?
I have left hidden some buried treasures within that thread that I'm sure a programmer like yourself should be able to quickly pick up on???

Go ahead and backtest it and see what you can do with it?

I will wager you 19,999:1 that no one legitimate will. Notice all the name dropping of all the "Usual Suspects" on ET that offer advice to newbies. LMAO :D

It is not enough to post a statement. It has to be audited...or alternatively, I wish that IB would implement some way to give multiple people read permissions to see someone elses blotter in realtime. That would solve alot of problems of claims, and with one fell swoop, legitimize the business. You would simply log on to http://www.interactivebrokers.com, click on login, use the login given to be a able to follow someone's live trading. No more bullshit, no more "Journals" on ET by paper traders, no more empty advice by paper traders, who by the way, have your best interest at heart :)

I think you should read WDGann's stuff here on ET though, he is really good :D

Why not post an account statement of YOURS so that you can demonstrate that you actually have the risk capital and wherewithal to PAY UP for the mentoring???

Especially if a mentor is asking for $25-50k UPFRONT!:D

You can be sure that is what would happen if I ever decided to "mentor" another trader. Don't hold your breath though, I have ZERO desire to mentor. If I did, I would apply the following principle to myself:
