Russia isnt part of the EU. (or maybe they are covertly...glad we are leaving!). We have the larger and most powerful military than any of those countries. Even combined, they are no threat. In addition, we have the USA as our closest ally.That will be over after the Brexit.

London is the biggest financial centre on the planet due to the amount of money that is handled here not because of jobs.

What "engagement"??!! Just the fact that they remain EU member forever??!! LOL This is your idea of "engagement"? UK joined EU out of their free choice. UK is not bound EU in slavery. They, just like any EU member can leave any time they want.
You don't know so you should do some research before you troll about it. A lot British wants to "cancel it" because they have no idea what EU is and no idea what UK is or capable of. It's very sad.
You apparently still don't understand it. I will try a last time. When UK was still in EU (which is even today still the case) they signed also agreements about contributions to the EU and also legally binding contracts between the EU and third parties. So they could (a hypothetical example) agree on paying to the EU a contribution of 1 billion, and they could agree that the EU would give 250 million to charity projects in Africa spread over 10 years. If now UK wants to leave after 5 years, there are still engagements for the next 5 years for the Africa project. That project was based on a contibution of the UK andf the UK signed as particvipant in it. So if the UK leaves after 5 years they should still pay for the remaining obligations they have for the remaining 5 years.
You are living in your own (unreal) reality. Close to 50% were against Brexit at the first poll already. And since then there were a lot of manifestations to stop Brexit. Just watch how big the discussions are in politics. Or do they also not know what Brexit is all about?
A lot British want to "cancel it" because they have a very good idea what EU is and a very good idea what UK is not capable of. The "British Empire" was build on slavery in overseas colonies, and many still think the "British Empire" is still the biggest in the world. These colonies are mostly gone as well as the slavery.
Jobs are linked with volume of work, so with volume of capitals handled. Big business means a lot of people, no business means no people.
I have a family member who is/was working as Chief Investment Officer for a few funds in London. He is in London for over 30 years and was active in several of the biggest investment banks of the world. He tells another story then what you say.
He thinks about selling his Chelsea +10million GBP house. He already bought an estate in his native country.
Moving the funds to within EU would be not a problem. Location is not so important anymore in a world with all the existing communication and transporting systems. Offices will be over 50% cheaper and you don't have to pay +10million GBP for a semi detached, 19th century 3 floors house with a small garden and no parking place anywhere. Salary cost will drop big too.
With the growing difficulties for Russians to live/go to London things will not improve. Abramovich is not the only billionaire that left/will leave London (or rather was thrown out by the British).
We will also have to wait and see how "free" access for EU citizens will be after the Brexit. And for the commuters that leave London by plane to spent their weekend abroad. I have been many times on these flight from London City Airport to ... and back, always seeing the same traders coming or going to work.
We no longer welcome criminal Russians and their dodgy money here. I'm very pleased they are being chucked out and made persona non grata. Apparently we are also confiscating their assets (houses, etc) if they can't prove source of funds are legit. Since most of it is from criminal enterprises (e.g. stealing it from the ordinary Russian people) this seems appropriate.

If the funds are stolen from the Russian people, it is interesting that you deem it appropriate for the British State to 'confiscate' and apply them for its own purposes.

This British attitude has much in common with 'American Exceptionalism'. The public in both countries are deluded, they aren't economically competitive any more. Expectations of living standards are too high compared with economic reality and the new generation aren't sufficiently educated or trainable to be useful. Therefore an economic adjustment needed, which can be blamed on 'Brexit' or whatever apparent crisis the public are apprehending.
The FCA outlined its post-Brexit plans in two papers recently.
The plans reveal that in a worst case scenario, where on March 29th UK leaves EU without a deal, the FCA will grant temporary permissions to all EU and European Economic Area(EEA) regulated companies to continue to operate in the UK for 2 more months, in which those companies will have the opportunity to talk with FCA and get FCA licenses.
