A very directionless day - surprising after a long US weekend and all the tensions in the world. We also had the minutes from Alan Greenspan's last FOMC. We have CPI tomorrow perhaps that will ignite something.

Traded the Euro today with some nice shorts that wouldn't quite go - both coming back to give us jsut a few pips. Had a decent long - clear set up from MM and figure spit which we bought on the break of the 50 ma - covered and waited for the FOMC meeting. One set up on JPY and EUR which I was a little bit out on - selling EUR at 1.1934 high was 1.1929 :) USDJPY we were buyers at 118.57 - low was 1.1963. Overall 3 trades for 11 pips. Maintained the discipline through a montonous session that's the reward and pleasing aspect.

Today seems to be like the last umpteen sessions - a series of failures and spits falling short - classic corrective wave patterns. I find the best way to avoid the easy throw to bad discipline or say what the heck this is to stay focused or just stay out. Has been difficult to stay in trades for sure as the follow through is limited and option strikes are tending to dominate.

It is one of those days or periods where you can be lucky or out of the room when the set up works - like a classic 80/20 spit on the EURUSD from 1.1878 to 1.1918 or so eventually - the trouble is this was the third short at 80 - classic corrective stuff - jsut have to amke sure you are in the right way or flat - very imortant to work tight trailing stops - alternative is to play the wider range with wider stops - which isn't really my cup of tea in these markets - false breaks will play havoc and risk/reward is hardly justifiable.

No new trades this afternoon -only order was a buy of eurusd at 1.1895 stop 1.1888 offered which was not filled - low was 1.1896 :( Order is cancelled

Only Live order is a sell (to short) order in EURCHF @ 1.5626 (missed here by 2 pips also) with a stop of 1.5634 bid

Result: 3 trades + 6 pips profit

Starting to get some impulse - missed a few trades from too finer entry - namely USDJPY and EURJPY - will adjust tomorrow as we have some nice potential movement from KoF, Durables and Poole.

Seemed to be a wave out today - two great shorts stopped by a pip or two a 40 pip and 12 pip correction. Also same problem on the EURJPY missing by 3-4 pips on entry - will work on my wave counts for that seems to be the problem. Also noticed MM + and - 1/8 topping throwovers this week will watch for that next week. Overall a decent week with many ' oh so closes'

Also changed over to Omnovia very nice web conferencing - makes it so much more smoother - expect 300% less distractions as a result next week.

Mondayitis - a day of continuations and just missing out - lots of big news in Japan & Australia tonight then working up towards Thursdays ECB & Trichet. Am watching EURCHF and EURJPY.

Not a bad day - starting to get some impulse - adjusting the levels and getting filled on different pairs - nice EURGBP trade. Traded CAD for the first time in a while - there is a reason why they call it the Loonie.

Stood aside while Trichet spoke and waited for the voaltility to subside - a few trades got chopped around with one decent trade on the Euro - not a huge day as didn't trade the afternoon - finishing off a new order book for the room which should be a great help - hopefully tonight all will be done!

Finally got impulse but aftr three days of it not happening let the afternoon go unfortunately to finish off the order sheet project.

A day of no carry through - one decent trade - just traded the euro today on such a listless day no point is branching out too far :) Had orders on AUD and JPY but not hit.
