I suspect Baron would have metrics on this kind of thing and it may be that "dislikes" inhibit number of posts which would certainly not benefit ET.

Yes, you could be correct about this. Having a "dislike" button could stop people from explaining why they dislike the message.

I got 9 pages of likes. I would like to think they are for my erudition but it seems mainly for the jokes . Probably have given about the same number. Take the poster with 3 likes ( Turveyd ). How many likes I wonder has he given ?

Hey got more likes per post than you and don't have a sense of humour so zero jokes.

20 tops here, maybe 10 tops on FB pretty much refuse to like things, miserable git me.

Alternatively, posters could be limited to just a couple of likes a day and likes would be spent theoretically on better postings.

I like this post but I already liked one of yours earlier...

It is like Upvoting on Reddit. It is a social feelgood experience, and Baron did it just to keep up with the times, but really nobody gives a damn...
