Sounds like Trump is not keeping the bar too high for a solid Democratic challenger to take him down. The question is, can the Democrats find that solid challenger?

I'm sure that is a good strategy. If Fox bad mouths all 200 Presidential candidates, Fox will lose credibility not all two hundred candidates.
I see a solid competitor to Trump as having at least 3 or 4 of the following attributes:
1) Having a solid platform that addresses real issues.
2) Have a successful track record in business or leadership.
3) Be able to deal with Trump and Fox attacks but doesn't get consumed by it. One way to neutralize Trump might be to have a wry observation prepared for the end of each debate. Trump certaintly has left a lot of material lying around for such a move.
4) Offer or do something Trump can't, but can capture the imagination of the general public.
5) Campaign hard and consistently in all the states, especially the battleground states.
Republicans don't even care if they have working sewage.
I saw this presentation on YouTube.com. It sounds like our system is functioning, with a little priming needed, as prominent politicians, both Democratic and Republican are in agreement and are currently addressing this issue.
Of note, no community health issues were mentioned in the video I saw.
It is too bad it took a UN report to light a fire underneath politician's asses.
Also disturbing is the alleged refusal of Nikki Haley's office to respond to media questions on this issue. Public service demands politicians taking all reasonable questions, especially the hard ones. In addition, the US withdrew from the UN committee that would be hearing this report a few days before the UN investigator was scheduled to present his findings. This is weak and pathetic. If the US sees this UN committee as an adversary, fine. Meet the challenge head on and present credible information to support your position. Running away and avoiding questions grants the opposing side the moral authority to claim default validation of their position.
This issue shows an example the positive power of the press and the United Nations to effect positive change in the lives of people than what would have happened otherwise. However, there can be negative aspects where the priorities of United Nations do not reflect the reality of limited resources or the comprehensive plan of a target county's leadership. United Nations initiatives should be considered by country leadership, but is no way a substitute for it.

Typically, property improvements such as sewer are paid for by homeowners through assessments levied by the Government providing the improvements. In some cases, such as high water tables or frequent flood zones, there are no easy or low cost solutions. The general contractor that created the subdivision on cheap, low land may be gone or financially unable to address the issue. The Government entity that approved the original plans may point out that building standards have changed and deny responsibility.
It also would seem unfair to condemn the subdivision because of homeowner property right's issues. How would they be compensated? I'm sure property values in the affected subdivision are in the toilet due to the stigma of the hookworm issue. However, there are well established precedents in protecting children and the community from infectious diseases such as hookworm. The overriding imperative should be the protection of children and the health of the community.
In my opinion, although homeowners have a responsibility to keep up the maintenance of their homes at to the point of meeting current health codes, they may have been let down by city planning decades ago because residents had no idea of the long term issues a high water table could cause.
It may take a court case to allocate responsibility, but the county appears to be on the hook for a significant amount of it.
I believe those who do the work should be compensated appropiately.
A lot of wealth has been created through business ownership and selling a partial ownership interest to Wall Street and in turn to investors. The money raised can then be allocated to building factories and hiring workers.
Liberals like to cast all processes of wealth accumulation as stealing from the poor in some way. While there have been instances of worker exploitation, especially on behalf of US or foreign based companies in foreign countries.
I'm for addressing this issue from a humanitarian standpoint. However, it is a dangerous course to take when creating blanket legislation that ends up punishing risk taking and the economic opportunities that go along with job creation.
SSSSSSO the chart of the widening wealth gap goes in one ear and out the other. I guess the wealthy are just working harder than they used to and the bottom 99% are getting lazy.

for the moderate republican party to be saved they need to run sombody else and maybe Weld could do it. Trump has no more to offer except sell the same sand again like the greatest healthcare and build the wall. I have to vote for a democrat if Trump is running in 2020.
