LCD monitor blacking out?

15 days I believe...oh well...call them and see if you can exchange, do you have a receipt?. Tell them this happened from day one and you had to wait for the computer repair person to diagnose the problem. YOU ARE EXTREMELY UPSET AND DEMAND AN EXCHANGE!

Be the MADbulgarian that you can be :) (no disrespect, I had a very dear Bulgarian friend, that could get so mad he would make Cramer look like a pussycat)

Dispute it with your Credit Card Company if you get nothing from Best Buy.

One of my LCD monitors is blacking out on me.
When I turn it off and turn it back on it is fine for about 2 seconds
and blacks out again on me.
Can someone tell me what may be causing this?

... Well it just decided to start working properly again.
This Samsung LCD is only about 2 months old.
Should I complain to the company?
As advised, when LCD screen is black:

1. Check power, incl. LCD's cables & cords - unplug and replug each.
Check electrical outlet.
Then reboot your system.

2. If still black, did you just upgrade some components - like a new video card?
If so, you may still need to download a driver...

3. You may have a monitor fuse going...
Time to call Samsung and let them know what's going on
- although you have a 3 year warranty

- be sure to pull down "Europe" at top
... then, also see Service Policy / Warranty at left.

If you bought the LCD from a third party, did the warranty transfer...?
Third parties sometimes unload hardware that they had problems with...

Most likely, a fuse like that would be on or off.... not intermittent...DO NOT OPEN UP YOUR MONITOR YOURSELF AS THE SCREWS HAVE LITTLE COATINGS ON THEM THAT COULD BE PROOF OF A VOIDED WARRANTY.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone:)

I think it's a fuse for the illumination light, so you think that would be covered under warranty?

Sounds like maybe the backlight. Yes, a warranty item. However, if you bought from a 3rd party, the warranty does not transfer... for original purchaser only.
