Due to gerrymandering The House heavily favor republicans and its an absolute failure when they lose it considering the gerrymandering advantage they have.In 2010 Republicans picked up 63 seats with a 6 million popular vote win.In 2018 Democrats won by 10 million but only picked up 41 seats.

Democrat Senators represent over 40 million more people than GOP Senators.That is one hell of an advantage for republicans when they can have 50-50 power representing 40 million fewer people.

I’m reading you guys’ conversation with interest and it is hard truth that population doesn’t translate into power or wins because of gerrymandering, the constitutional limits on senate seats, and the electoral college.

But, what population does impact, or rather popularity, is ability to pass policy. As you are seeing with Republicans in the last couple of decades, they cannot pass any meaningful legislation so they have become a party that has leveraged the rules only to be obstructionists and thus the country declines under their leadership.

That’s my point, didn’t mean to interrupt.
