L.A. Times editorial eviscerates Trump

Don't be an idiot. Abortions are legal! He said that women who have abortions should be punished! That's how insane he is. Don't you listen to anything the man says? Start listening.
Not all abortions are legal, last trimester...the question to him was, What should happen to women who violate abortion law? His answer, if they violate the law they must be punished....Agree?

At the time we had just endured a couple of Terror attacks. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. All we knew is muslims were blowing people up. The average guy may not have said it publicly, but at least half the people thought we should just stop allowing muslims to enter the country "until we know what the hell is going on"... Agree?

We are not going to build a wall and Mexico is not going to pay for it so you have nothing to worry about. But you must admit we need to do something about illegals entering the country....Agree?

Trump represents Joe 6 pack and says exactly what we feel. So you think Joe 6 pack is insane, what's new in your elite world?

You want politicians who represent you. In your world we are too insane to have anybody represent us. Them and us, you and me. Thankfully your divisiveness will prevent the government from progressing, glad you finally became an obstructionist, so we don't have to worry about anything. It will be a major accomplishment just to get a Supreme Court replacement. While the rest of us go to work, you and Schumer can sit on the sidelines and bitch about everything. It may be the first time in a long time for democrats, but the rest of us have been outraged over the lies and deceit and flat out communist thinking of the democrats for years. Take a break, it's our turn to screw things up. Your side already did enough damage, and you want more? Democrats are the greediest people on earth.

.the question to him was,
He wasn't asked, He volunteered his opinion and it was unrelated to whether an abortion was legal or not. If you try to look up statistics for illegal last trimester abortions in the U.S. you won't find any. So stop making this crap up.

Currently, federal law makes it legal to abort babies into the ninth month of pregnancy.

While some states have restrictions on abortion, all states permit abortion into the ninth month for certain exceptions— and eight states allow abortion until birth for any reason (Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington State).

In 2012, the CDC reported that 1.3 percent of legal abortions were done at 21 weeks’ gestation and later.

Do you want "Joe Six Pack" running the country? For God sake man, get a grip.

Sometimes I wonder if Joe Six Pack, as you refer to him, running the country could do any worse than the current group of imbeciles in Congress.

Here is where we might disagree. Although I take great delight in referring to our Representatives and Senators in Washington as imbeciles and morons, I don't really regard any of our Congressmen or Senators as such -- well maybe one or two :D. In fact, it would seem that the majority of them are well above average in intelligence, education and fitness for the job.

So in my opinion we have to look elsewhere for the causes of the dysfunction in our government. My personal view is that it relates partly to growing obsolescence of our two-and-a-half century old Constitution, but mainly to problems that we ourselves have created by making mistakes in the past. And some mistakes can be very difficult to rectify once we've let their repercussions become embedded. Collectively we will let it rain through a hole in the roof until we have seriously damaged something below before we patch the roof, whereas as individuals we would have fixed the roof long ago.

There are myriad specific examples of what I am referring to. To pick one from an endless list at random, we never should have attached medical care to employment. That has caused all kinds of embedded problems. Now, detaching it won't be easy.

Trump is just an extreme exception, a very serious mistake. 20 years from now he'll be an anecdote in our history.. (I hope!)

Sure, let's blame it on an inanimate piece of paper that prevents politicians from focusing on what's important and working together.

What problems? Don't worry, we will get our Supreme Court justice. Debt? Yeah that's a problem, maybe we could grow our way out of it. All these problem already existed in the last 8 years. Why are they suddenly so critical now? Rewrite the constitution because it permits somebody like Trump to become president? Democrats are losing it big time. Formerly well thought out and reasoned are going beserk complete with exclamation points and pleading for their opponents to be worried. I stopped caring when Hillary got off Scott free. Wasn't somebody going to lock her up or something?

No. It wouldn't be a good idea to scrap it and start over, but it does need updating via amendment. Because it lets corporations have some rights that should only belong to individuals. Because it is silent on how political campaigns should be funded. Because it is silent on Gerrymandering. Because it permits the Houses of government to ignore their Constitutional duties for purely political reasons. But the constitution is not the main contributor to a dysfunctional government, it is only a contributing factor.

Not just any piece of paper. An extremely important piece of paper. It's value has noting to do with the physical material itself. Your remark is rather childish actually. Of course some of our problems with government today relate indirectly to our Constitution. No Reasonably informed person would not understand that. (Joe Six Pack was Java's terminology. I merely quoted it in response to him. I think it is rather an accurate descriptive term, nevertheless.)

If it's childish to demand to hold our politicians accountable for not being able to fix anything rather than a piece of paper that our nation was founded upon, then call me little Billy.
