KKK and Confederate Trump supporters rally

He renounced the KKK in 1940, how is that the modern era given modern era is considered from 1946 onwards? On the other hand, Storm Thurmond switched from Dem to Repub after CRA and remained a racist until his death.

Let's read Byrd's information since he is number one example on the lengthy list of Democrats in the KKK.

Robert C. Byrd, a Democrat, was a recruiter for the Klan while in his 20s and 30s, rising to the title of Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of his local chapter. After leaving the group, Byrd spoke in favor of the Klan during his early political career. Though he claimed to have left the organization in 1943, Byrd wrote a letter in 1946 to the group's Imperial Wizard stating "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia." Byrd attempted to explain or defend his former membership in the Klan in his 1958 U.S. Senate campaign when he was 41 years old.[1] Byrd, a Democrat, eventually became his party leader in the Senate. Byrd later said joining the Klan was his "greatest mistake." The NAACP gave him a 100% rating on their issues during the 108th Congress.[2] However, in a 2001 incident Byrd repeatedly used the phrase "white niggers" on a national television broadcast

You left out this

"In 1946, Byrd wrote a letter to a Grand Wizard stating, "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia and in every state in the nation."[19] However, when running for the United States House of Representatives in 1952, he announced "After about a year, I became disinterested, quit paying my dues, and dropped my membership in the organization. "

He hasn't been a member of the KKK since atleast 1946. I am well aware of his history, he was part of the Southern Dixiecrats that were against the CRA - almost ALL of them switched to Republican (like Thurmond) - the only reason he stayed in the Democratic Party was by repudiating his past which he didn't have to do. He was welcomed with open arms by Republicans with their Southern Strategy but he chose not to do that

Enjoying your interpretative re-writing of history, eh?

Name one in the modern era.

And for those uninitiated, this is how Republicans courted racists from Southern Democrats after CRA passed

The father of the modern democrat party is FDR, the same guy who rounded up 120,000 Japanese-Americans and threw them in camps.

Why? Because they committed the crime of being of Japanese descent.

Hillary Clinton, your party's nominee for President, is a big fan of FDR and is so delusional she claims to commune with FDRs wife.

The father of the modern Republican party is Reagan, the same guy who started his campaign where three civil rights activists were murdered and gave a textbook Atwater speech

Why? Because since the CRA passed, Republicans have courted racists and without them, there party has no base.

Donald Trump, your party's President, his father was KKK and is so delusional he claims to not know David Duke at all after writing about meeting him in a book.

It was bitter symbolism for black Americans (though surely not just for black Americans). Countless observers have noted that Reagan took the Republican Party from virtual irrelevance to the ascendancy it now enjoys. The essence of that transformation, we shouldn't forget, is the party's successful wooing of the race-exploiting Southern Democrats formerly known as Dixiecrats. And Reagan's Philadelphia appearance was an important bouquet in that courtship

Two can play that game

Donald Trump is the son of a KKK member and supporter and unlike Byrd he never renounced it. Life father, like son.

Yeah, I link you a picture of someone you actually voted for. You link a near century old article(from 1927) that pertains to someone that shares DNA with Donald Trump.

You're screaming racist while Clinton actually used slave labor and admitted it.

You are the same asshole who claimed Trump colluded with the Russians but still have ZERO evidence. Why would anyone pay any attention to you? You are a liar.

Yup, zero evidence - other than Manafort, Kushner, Page, Flynn, tax audit with Russian income and firing the guy for investigating all that, ZERO evidence indeed.

And you don't have to believe me, just follow the links I provided and make your own determination. Or listen to Lee Atwater talking about the Southern Strategy (he was a Republican like you)
