ALCAR does increase beta hydroxybutyrate so you need to experiment with dosing. Start with 250mg combined with 100mg ALA before or with meals.

If you cannot handle the epi then forego the ALCAR until you see how you feel; add a tsp of coconut oil with it.

What exactly produces the ketoacids?

Since betahydroxybutyrate is water soluble, I use natural laxatives to maintain peristalsis, inhibited by fasting. No adrenaline during the day, but when I wake up, I can feel it until I get things moving again.

I forgot to add the vitamin C. I'll edit the opening post. I would do at least a gram with each meal. You will need it to maintain regularity. I also consume prebiotic fiber and insoluble to move things along.

The ALCAR makes some people "loose" so reduce if >bowel tolerance.

Lots of free-range and organic eggs. Obv zero supplemental protein. Egg salad (eggs, mayo, yellow mustard). Omelettes. Fatty beef, turkey sausage. I cook with Kerrygold butter, EVOO and coconut oil. Bacon on occasion but moving away from pork--pigs are as smart as dolphins, perhaps smarter.

Today I had a three egg omelette with cheddar in butter. A tsp of coconut oil. No lunch yet.
That's a lot of saturated fat. I know sat fat is in fashion again, but I'm still hedging. I'm eating a bit more whole eggs and 30% fat reduced cheese (which still has flavor!), but I'm keeping one foot on (or is it off?) the boat. Moderation, and all that; and in that vein, whole grain carbs. I suppose my diet would best be described as the DASH Riprock diet. :D

Yeah, I agree about the pigs. They're supposed to be the smartest animals on the farm and reportedly have the cognitive capability of a 3-year-old child, which is considerably more than that of an adult Trump supporter. Also, I read or heard somewhere that some firemen who have smelled burning human flesh were subsequently put off by pork.

That’s a good idea. I have a low BT to ALCAR and C, so I take the prebiotic and insoluble for general health.

Fasting -> liver FAs -> beta-oxidation -> acetyl-CoA -> TCA. It is my belief that ALCAR increase the tempo/clearance and perhaps capacity, by itself, and in the presence of supraphysiologic-ubiquinone/ol

Structurally, animal fats have poor-adherence to arterial walls. VLDL is THE cause of arterial plaque/CAD.

I think even on Keto you should not be simply eating bacon and ribs all day. Even within fats there is a healthy balance. This is coming from a bacon-holic....

I believe as you indicate there are the dense and fluffy LDL and high LDL alone is not a warning sign if you can then get the tests to determine what type of LDL you have, correct?

Right. There is also a genetic predisposition for adhesion. A lot of moving parts, but just stay away from sugar as much as possible. Sugar=heart disease.

I used to love doing the keto diet and it worked really well. As of last year, after I hit 45, whenever I tried doing it I had heart palpitations. One time it actually put me into afib! Obviously I was either doing it wrong or something significantly affected me like never before.
