Yep. the republicans have the numbers to do it in theory but there are senators with heavy baggage such as mccain, corker, jeff flakeball that want to poke their finger in trump's eye on the way out. I dont think they will hold out for some lefty or moderate justice but they will play games with bargaining their vote on whatever is going on that week- another immigration bill, some north korea deal or some pain in the arse thing. It's what they do, so let's just get on with it.

You guys need to keep in mind that there is no requirement in the Constitution that a supreme court justice be a lawyer . He might appoint Sean Hannity.

Also, there is actually no requirement that a justice be an American citizen, so perhaps Piezo will live to see the day when we have more Canadians on the Court- and he would argue that that is just what the Founders intended.

It is the lunatics taking over the asylum. Said it a few times but as there is not one high functioning country operating under US conservative/GOP ideal rules.. kind of proves it does not work anywhere.
