When a cop says drop the gun, you drop the gun. Couldn't care less what color you are or whether or not you're legal, illegal, NRA, whatever. Lilly white boy with an NRA sticker is told by police to drop the gun and he doesn't...kill his ass dead. Fuck'em!If this go's unpunished this makes it acceptable for law enforcement to shoot people with a gun at their waist.I don't want the government having that kind of power.Get the right to accept this as ok by shooting a black person then they cant complain when the 2nd amendment /NRA/ open carry crowd starts getting mowed down for not putting down their weapons.

I hope the 2nd amendment supporters agrees with that for their sake from now on.If they are legally carrying or exercising their 2nd amendment rights the burden is now on them to prove they are not a threat.Police and the Feds no longer have to lie and say a suspect pointed a gun at them to kill them, just holding a gun is enough justification now.
What is so f'n hard about doing what a cop tells you to do in a situation like this? A right to carry does not give you the right to just ignore police. If anyone thinks that it does, that is exactly the type of person who has no business with a gun.Police State supporters love that attitude.
According to the police chief. The cops were at the apartment complex looking for someone else. However they observed this guy smoking pot in his car. They didn't think much of this, but then they observed this individual (Keith Scott) with a gun and pot. At this point they decided to get their tactical gear and arrest this person because he represented a threat to the public due to the gun.

"Shooting them is not an acceptable way of gaining compliance." It is if they have a weapon and make a move for it. Did that happen in this case? Well, lets do a Joe Friday. Two things are wrong. One, the penalty for failing to click your heels for the cops is not death. Two, the cops are often dealing with people who are sick, crazy, impaired, dumb, angry, upset, irrational, etc. These sorts of people can respond ambiguously to police commands. Shooting them is not an acceptable way of gaining compliance.
I agree with you that 99.9% of these problems would be avoided if people, and that means largely blacks, would just do what the police say and not turn every interaction into a confrontation. I also know that a lot of cops are overly aggressive, have an us against them mentality and seem primed to find justification use their weapons.
I hate that they are giving ammunition to these BLM thugs. It seems obvious that BLM is being funded by despicable people like Soros who want to amp up blacks ahead of the election. At the same time it bothers me that police are shooting people whose only crime seems to be not immediately obeying the police.
