Keith Lamont Scott shooting

If this go's unpunished this makes it acceptable for law enforcement to shoot people with a gun at their waist.I don't want the government having that kind of power.Get the right to accept this as ok by shooting a black person then they cant complain when the 2nd amendment /NRA/ open carry crowd starts getting mowed down for not putting down their weapons.
When a cop says drop the gun, you drop the gun. Couldn't care less what color you are or whether or not you're legal, illegal, NRA, whatever. Lilly white boy with an NRA sticker is told by police to drop the gun and he doesn't...kill his ass dead. Fuck'em!

I hope the 2nd amendment supporters agrees with that for their sake from now on.If they are legally carrying or exercising their 2nd amendment rights the burden is now on them to prove they are not a threat.Police and the Feds no longer have to lie and say a suspect pointed a gun at them to kill them, just holding a gun is enough justification now.

I am finding this incident to be increasingly troubling. Like gwb, I didn't get much from the video. I don't expect the cops to have to take incoming fire before shooting, but this was a situation that they fomented totally on their own. This guy seemed to be minding his own business, then suddenly there was a tactical assault on him for, gasp, rolling a blunt. I am very uncomfortable with the idea that having a blunt and a gun gives the police the right to shoot you if you blink.

Everyone here knows I am total law and order and I have no time for BLM, however I don't like the concept that the police are out there looking for an excuse to shoot people. They could have arrested this guy without killing him. That is pretty damn obvious. Like the inner city blacks, the police end up being their own worst enemies. Ironic yes, but we have a higher expectation for them.

What is so f'n hard about doing what a cop tells you to do in a situation like this? A right to carry does not give you the right to just ignore police. If anyone thinks that it does, that is exactly the type of person who has no business with a gun.
I'm on record here in past posts stating that a CCP should be really difficult to get. A CCP and the right to bear arms are two completely different things. You want a gun in your home and you're a legal, lawful citizen? No problem. Simple background check. You want to carry? Then you must undergo an extensive background check including medical regards for history of any, and I mean ANY type of treatment or issues with mental illness. Pass that then you take, at your own expense, extensive training which includes training on WHEN you may actually pull the weapon. Any fucking idiot can learn the mechanics. Pass all that, lucky you, you're the proud owner of a CCP. All you have to do in order to maintain the permit is to submit a medical report that you're still sane, and you get to do that each and every fucking year. Don't want to do that? Fuck you, no CCP. CCP ain't a constitutional right.

According to the police chief. The cops were at the apartment complex looking for someone else. However they observed this guy smoking pot in his car. They didn't think much of this, but then they observed this individual (Keith Scott) with a gun and pot. At this point they decided to get their tactical gear and arrest this person because he represented a threat to the public due to the gun.

Explain why you think police is really not caring for the pot they see (illegal in USA) but the police panic to see the gun (legal in the USA)

What I can not understand is the why legal guns for the USA citizens give the USA police justification to kill the citizens if they police see the guns. Why?

Why can the USA police is justify killing people when they (see) the gun? Why is the gun legal of the citizens of some USA states, but the police have power to say they have fear of their life when they only see the gun? The police have power to justify killing? Because they (see) the gun? They police only (see) the gun, so is justify to them to kill the person with the gun? But the gun maybe is legal to the person they kill? Is really too much power to the police.

Two things are wrong. One, the penalty for failing to click your heels for the cops is not death. Two, the cops are often dealing with people who are sick, crazy, impaired, dumb, angry, upset, irrational, etc. These sorts of people can respond ambiguously to police commands. Shooting them is not an acceptable way of gaining compliance.

I agree with you that 99.9% of these problems would be avoided if people, and that means largely blacks, would just do what the police say and not turn every interaction into a confrontation. I also know that a lot of cops are overly aggressive, have an us against them mentality and seem primed to find justification use their weapons.

I hate that they are giving ammunition to these BLM thugs. It seems obvious that BLM is being funded by despicable people like Soros who want to amp up blacks ahead of the election. At the same time it bothers me that police are shooting people whose only crime seems to be not immediately obeying the police.

"Shooting them is not an acceptable way of gaining compliance." It is if they have a weapon and make a move for it. Did that happen in this case? Well, lets do a Joe Friday.
Keith is surrounded by cops telling him to drop the gun.
Keith is a thug who is illegally carrying a weapon.
Wife is emphatically yelling at him, Don't do it Keith, Don't do it.
Looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.
Guy refuses to comply with simple and numerous commands to drop the gun, makes a move and gets blasted. Keith is now dead. Lesson learned. Drop the f'n gun. Of course this assumes one is capable of learning anything at all, which in the case of your common thug is asking a lot.
All that said, when some of these screwball cops grossly over react they should be held to account, and that means going to jail for them and all their compadres who lie and cover up.
