I can think of a few firms that don't have this business and Knight is one of the top independent firms in this business.

I could also see Citadel buying it just to kill it so no one else has it.

I would think the barriers to entry are very high (hundreds of millions + years).
 
Nothing that Kirit Patel from the outsourced support center in India can't fix:

i thought stocks moved because of buyers and sellers...

but i guess in todays markets stocks move on algorithms

What you are not realizing is that they have a $600m capital hole, so not just they have to find a buyer they have to find someone willing to put $600m at an attractive price for current shareholders for your trade to work out. Market cap is something like $200M, you think someone will put $600M and give you a profit at the same time?
This is either a takeunder or bk IMO
 
When a company is facing BK they don't have leverage in the negotiations. Remember Penson?They got acquired for $5M. almost nominal amount. Same thing will happen if they sit down with Citadel or Goldman, its their price or bk

At two bucks, risk is pretty limited. Only got 2 points to go down. But if a miracle happens, it could easly go parabolic. :)

As long as its a small position it could be an interesting play. Especially if Michael Knight figures out how to rescue the situation.
