Democrats made the country strong under Obama. There was a solid foundation of fiscal management by reducing the structural deficit and expansion of healthcare. This was all buttressed by strong improvements in education and job training.
There is a massive amount of damage building up under the Trump presidency. He and the republicans in Congress have set us up for a tremendous amount of financial hardship. We can’t escape mathematics. Inflation and debt will take its toll.
The culture war republicans engaged in to gain power is dividing the country in terrible way. Even today, it is not the economy the republicans are running on in the midterms, it’s the culture wars.
Trump is going to leave this country broke and divided. There will be an undermining of our justice system and the country will be flush with right wing activist justices that will bury the American worker and undermine minority and women protections.
This is a case of laugh now and cry later. On the road to Iran.
