The background check is supposed to be done at the FFL. When I bought my HK mr556, I ordered from Bud's, and picked it up at the FFL, who did the background check. If I had failed the background check, I would have been out the $3000 as Bud's states "no returns".

It's hard for me to comprehend how anyone could think passing another law would stop a nut.

I've faced the facts a long time ago. Progressives just won't be satisfied until two things happen.

1 only police have guns
2 only progressives are in control of the police

And it will happen.

But look at the bright side. When it does happen, we won't have to listen to any more wailing on tv about massacres, because when they are responsible, it won't be news anymore.

You know, just like when black mobs create havoc in major cities. That's not news.

That's not the point with liberals. They see this as the camel's nose under the tent. Once they get assault rifles banned, then it will be tactical shotguns. Then semi atuo pistols. The slippery slope argument is why anyone who values their Second Amendment rights must fight tooth and nail against any additional restrictions.

If Boehner caves on this or if he can't hold his caucus together, he should be finished. He's been a mediocre Speaker at best, and if he can't withstand pressure on the party's two most important issues, taxes and gun rights, he should step aside and let someone with balls take over.
