Too many will. Banning gun shows, where virtually anyone can buy a firearm for cash, would be an almost impossible up heal battle, for example.

Any place you can buy a weapon without a check should be eliminated or changed. Why can't a gun show process through an FFL like it occurs when someone orders a gun online?

I read that 40% of gun sales are online with no background check.

I recently bought a pistol online and the paperwork was minimal. The weapon had to be delivered to a local FFL who then verified it was compliant with state laws before I could pick it up.

There was a factory test expended round supplied with the gun that was kept. I'm not sure if that goes to the state for their records or what exactly happens with it.

I agree that the loophole for gun shows should be eliminated.

My own belief about what is happening with mass shooting is that after 1981 there was a reluctance to identify and hospitalize mentally ill people. Before that time people were often committed to mental institutions if they were diagnosed with a mental illness.

No one is talking about banning the guns, this will not take place. But banning semi atomic rifles and high capacity clips might be a way to go. Also, background checks on national level, plus a much higher permit's cost for each additional gun after the first.

All we can go as a society is try to find a decent balance between our rights and our safety.

I believe Long Island railroad shooter was stopped in 1993 when he was reloading the gun.

That piece of shit in CT would have been knocked out with a single punch if anyone would be able to get close to him.

It makes sense, but yet there is a huge opposition to closing these shows or changing the format.

The industry is very protective. For example, I believe there was an attempt few years ago to add something to guns to make them more traceable, it was successfully defeated.
