The ruling is based on "proven" fact. Fact that we do not have access to, but the Judge does! This is why we have courts and judges. You'll have to get used to that if you're going to stick around. We don't like lynch mob mentality in the U.S. And therefore we follow the rule of law, wherever that takes us. Sometimes we don't like the result based on our, usually, very limited knowledge. Whenever you read or hear something that sounds wrong, does not ring true, the first thing to do, is to consider the reliability of the source. Most likely the reason it sounds wrong is because it is, or alternatively because you lack important information. The reason these stories crop up, and on the surface sound ridiculous, is because they are being intentionally reported in a highly prejudicial manner. Such stories are used very handily by those with a particular political agenda. Truth is not the objective.
