Measured moves from my files. Pretty self explanatory but the dashed line leg = following dashed leg . solid line = next solid.

I exited a winner on AVT and I lossed focus for one minute. I should have added per my plan but I didn't. The bar I was focused on had not closed, and for some reason I thought it did. When I rechecked the chart, I said "what the heck" and realized it was a user error. For what it's worth I would have added to follow the plan, but made a mistake. Like taking your eye off the golf ball:)

Good post on TM. A lot of this stuff is starting to click (between the ears).

Posted another chart I think shows staying in the now with price (and it makes sense to me) Always love to hear anything more...

I added a 10 period SMA as it helps me make (the same) decisions as to what price needs to do either before or after entering a position. That's all a trading plan is right?

Indicators are something I got caught up with years ago. It isn't that they are wrong but they need to be used correctly to see price. They don't give magic signals.

I am still getting hung up on how you refer to price

“make decisions as to what price needs to do”

Price is everything
Price does not need to do anything
Price will never do what you want it to
Price will do what it damn well pleases – every tick

We on the other hand, must always bend…, and decide what we will do – in relation to what price IS doing

It’s a sticking point – I agree… but trading being mostly mental (a mind set)

How we view and align our self – with respect to price – and what price is doing – is everything in trading

When I say; I trust price completely

When I say; I stick my head up price’s ass and follow it through hell and half of Georgia

When I say; – if the good Lord came down and told me to trade one way, yet price was saying the other – that I would respectfully decline what the Lord was telling me – and follow price

I mean it – every last bit of it….


In the mkt, while trading – price is everything

I am but its lowly…, loyal follower… I can’t make it do anything… I can’t influence it… it doesn’t know I exist

Now before someone goes ape shit religious and start saying I’m desecrating God

This has nothing to do with God….

It has everything to do with placing price on a pedestal…, while trading… and following it…, being its loyal and complete servant…, and doing exactly what it says – every time it says it

Anything less – and it will bite you square in the ass.., you’ll fight it / think you’ve outsmarted it….

And your next loser will be big

Aside;

Keep at this (trading), and one of these days you’ll have trades that reap handsomely… you’ll have winning streaks that last for days/ weeks/ months

It is at these times – it is easy to become full of yourself – delude yourself into believing you know something you don’t/ can’t…

It is at these times you will forget who’s actually in charge

And it is exactly at these times – you will lose big

Learn the right way now… or re-learn a very hard – and very expensive lesson – later

Either way – you will learn it.

Fact is

I’m not perfect… I have many flaws…, imperfections… and fuck ups

It’s that I’ve been battle tested – over and over and over and over
