I love it when these 2 square off, not sure what point Jon Stewart was trying to make, of course being born black is a factor, just like many other factors, but it doesnt give someone an excuse to act like an animal, and it sure as hell isnt the reason why successfull white people are successful, White priviledge is just a bullshit narrative trying to justify the behaviour in black communities.

The notion of white privilege is salient. It comes down to the Liberal philosophy of property ownership and achievement. Liberals don't believe children should inherit the success of their parents, because that puts black kids at a disadvantage. Sorry black parents are idiots and don't value education? That's really all it comes down to. Blacks and Liberals want to fault whites (and Asians and Mexicans) for working hard and making something of themselves. Why? Because blacks don't, so their children inherit the loser thinking of their parents and become losers like them. So why not blame the "winners", instead of taking accountability for themselves? Easier to lay blame then look in the mirror.
Also notice how the Liberals single out their favorite whipping boy (white people), for another round of shaming and blaming. Liberals are just filled with contradictions. Prejudice exercised against any group is wrong, except when it's Christians, Jews and White People. Those groups are okay to stereotype, chastise and beatup, because Liberals say it's okay. Why Christians and Jews? Because Liberals tend towards feminism, gay rights, and amorality, and the Bible is antithetical to that.

And yeah, i too also thought stewart was flailing, i love how he had no excuse for the whole asian priviledge other than to say that white people set the rules therefore we supposedly have priviledge. Why is it that if there ever was a stereotype about asians, it would be that they are incredibly hard workers? Its cause anyone with a brain whose been to a college can look around and see that half the seats, and most of the honor roll is occupied by asians.
So if the whole thing really came down to color of ones skin, and that was the only reason people are succeeding or failing, and it was the only reason for stereotypes, why is it that asians overwhelmingly succeed, many of whom are dark skinned, where as blacks overwhelmingly fail?

1. Jim Crow ended decades ago. Quit acting like it was last week.
2. Equal opportunity does not guarantee equal outcomes. You get your shot and come what may.
3. The black community needs to take education much more seriously. While the public education system certainly has it's flaws, those flaws aren't the root cause of the problem. Peer pressure to stay ignorant is the problem. Black kids are tormented relentlessly if they try to excel academically. Black kids have 3 goals.
A. Professional athlete.
B. Rap star
C. Thug
Thug being the easiest to achieve is usually where they end up and that ain't whitey's fault. Get over it and take some personal responsibility. Set some realistic goals and then work for them. It's really not anymore complicated than that.

I can see some truth in both arguments. It is not an either/or. But I agree that Stewart argued poorly. He admitted it himself. Plus he was the one that threw the topic out there. He should have had a better argument prepared.
I posted the other day that Jason Riley point this very issue out .. in his book he states Asians are best educated and make the most $$ on average. And blacks are at the bottom. Observing the work ethic of all groups helps understand why this is. And Riley begs liberals to quit 'helping' blacks since it makes it even harder to succeed (when you think dependency on handouts and protesting are helping in any way).

One of the other things that Neither Stewart, nor O'Reilly touched on is that Jews are at the top of the list too, and what do Jews put value in? Hard work, success, community, family. Funny how no one ever brings them up as if they were priviledged, i guess they thought that was to tough an argument given the fact that it was only half a century ago they were the victims of mass extermination. Yet somehow they have not only survived, they have thrived.
