John Carter from Trade the Markets

Quote from Rockhoundnz:

I really don't know anything about this guy, but I do know that he has a video on YouTube of a what is posted as a "live trade" with 30 contracts, but he's actually using the demo version of the InfinityAT trading ladder - you can tell because the P&L column on his demo doesn't update until the whole trade is complete, unlike the real thing - which, if you watch carefully, does update in the video above. Maybe he got confused, but in the video he comments on the difference between a demo and a cash trade on the InfinityAT ladder (somewhat incorrectly) and still didn't mention it wasn't a cash trade. Take what you will from that.
have not seen the video but....I guess you are referring to Infinity platform. If you closed your orders then one of the 'closed' P/L box at the bottom will not move but the other column next it will be moving as prices jump around. I would think Carter is smarther than that...again have not seen the video you are talking about...in general he is very well versed.

Was he disclosing losses? What was te percentage?

Why is his book then endorsed by some good traders?

Just enormous losses virtually every day.

As for the endorsements John Hill is a publisher not a trader, Price Headley is not a profitable trader I have heard, Mark Douglas is either modestly profitable or unprofitable from what I have heard, and Carolyn Boroden is a technical analyst not a trader.

90% or more of people that sell trading education products are either not traders at all or unsuccessful traders. If someone has something that works they are not going to sell it to you for 29.95.

Here, compare these two videos:

The P&L boxes at the bottom right of the trading ladder don't change as each target is hit in this video; they only do that on the demo version of InfinityAT.

In this video it changes as each target is hit, as it should with the cash version. http://www.tradethemarkets.com/public/1846.cfm

Interesting observation, it could due to that in the Youtube video the top of the platform is not shown where it says SIM.

Yeah, interesting huh? There's a lot of videos on YouTube of supposed live trades where the top of the trading ladder is conveniently covered by an arrow, or some text, or it's off the screen, or whatever.

Not interesting at all. JC is a con man, pure and simple.

The AT platform allows you to select "Display Realized PNL" and "Full Fill P&L Calc". The supposed discrepancy you note could be attributable to this.
