A couple of points on Trumps re-election:

1. It’s hard to knock off an incumbent president. Historically it’s like an 11% chance.

2. Trump is in a worse political position than Carter in 1979 but Biden is not Reagan. How to process that, I don’t know.

You are correct in that Trump has not expanded his voter base at this point. He is basically working with less than he had in 2016. So, yes, we are seeing him try to do what Republicans do, suppress the vote. Lower turnout benefits him because the electorate is against his re-election.

The shenanigans with the USPS strikes at the core of American democracy - one person, one vote. Do we really live in a republic without equal access to choose representation? Of corse the answer is no. You’ll also see reduced polling stations and late in the season voter roll purges.

Yes, I do think that people who did not vote for him before might do so now. Unfortunately, we can't know what support the man truly has because we've made it so dangerous to announce support for the guy that everyone won't tell you the truth.
