Sessions and Trumps appointed FBI directer has access to whatever they came up with. The fact that they haven't started a special counsel investigation suggest they didn't come up with anything.
Doesn't matter what they came up with. A real investigation was not done. Need to do that first.
And the crimes that were clearly identified were not prosecuted. Need to go back and do that.
The DOJ may never appoint a special prosecutor as long as Rosenstein is there- who fears where that would lead- particularly in regard to him. But a special investigator can also be appointed directly by Congress. So the appointment of special counsel/investigator may not be determined by what the FBI Director and Sessions conclude.
The justice department is never going to want a special investigator appointed to look at them which would be part of looking at Clinton since it is their corrupt actions that let Clinton get off for her corrupt actions. So, as I said earlier, Rosenstein and company better tread carefully. Right as we speak they are giving congress the finger on the documents they have requested. Not the best way to keep them from appointing a special counsel.
