Just one trade today but it was a good one because I did what I was supposed to do. Wasn't excited about the set up but it was valid so took it. Price did move and retrace quickly and I thought of exiting with +10 because it was the first trade of day and thought just start with any profit. Instead stayed with plan and hit target +25.

After that was cautious because it's a holiday week. Probably a good decision.

Not sure if i'll trade tomorrow.

I'm pleased I did my job well today.

Thank you RN ! I like hearing it. And I like that I'm creating new habits i.e. following my plan with better patience.

I'm slowly becoming a rat and I'm fine with that !

You decided to take last Thursday off from trading - to clear your head..., center your self


Looking back - and factoring in your mindset / emotional state since then

Was it the right decision?

Also would you agree - to move forward - at times..., it necessary that we must stop and regroup our self

Reason I poses these questions;

When in the heat of the moment - its hard to stop / step back

But stopping / stepping back would be the most prudent / beneficial course of action for us at that very moment

Yet many fail to accept this

Yes, it was correct decision to take a break. That day I gave a lot of thought about some beliefs I have. I need to remember to go back to that page I wrote to keep myself balanced.

There were times I would not take a break because there was always the feeling that 'today is going to be the day things start to click' or 'today is the day I will have that big win that will boost my confidence'. Then it doesn't happen and it leads to even more frustration and the loop of no breaks continues. It's a hard cycle to get out of. I've had some good days (profits and me following the plan) this past month so it was easier this time to take a break. But I also knew that I could not let the progress I made slip away. I had issues of self-doubt I needed to address. (Thanks to redneck and another behind the scenes trader for pointing this out to me, if not directly)

Taking a break also put me back or kept me in control of myself. The small act of stepping out of the 'try too hard' loop brings back some sense of control. Given that's all we can control it's crucial to maintain it.

Now that I think about it I'm not sure I've previously taken a day off from trading when it was a day I could have traded. At most I went to sim instead of Live.

So yes, absolutely it's good to take some breaks to regroup. Not weekends but actual trading days off. By regroup , we mean study ourselves, study our methods, stop placement , past trades etc. Taking vacations is also important but I believe you were not referring to that type of break.

Just reviewing charts right now. Will be looking to trade tomorrow but going in a bit cautious due to holiday season. That is, watching volume and hyper aware of possible chop.

Expecting to trade for a couple/few more weeks.
