I disagree. The poor decision making is a result of the President's impaired mental functioning, and yet for some strange the majority of Republicans are still willing to blindly follow him on most issues, even when they know is is fabricating numbers and telling one lie after another.. They have the power to put a stop to it; why don't they. You'll find the Democrats are not blind followers of the President's seat-of-the-pants impulsiveness. Rather the Democrats are engaged in real debate and differences of opinion.
It is vastly different. Virtually all previous administrations from the 19th Century on used the State Department, our Intelligence Sources, the leaders of Congress and our Allies as a sounding board before making decisions such as Trump made without consulting anyone other than a pentagon that is in disarray after the exit of so many top officials, and Lindsey Graham, his golfing partner. The President did not consult the Congressional leadership, as has nearly without exception been done in past similar situations. The President is a mentally defective, loose canon. Did you see his press conference this am? He's becoming delusional.

Trump was elected because the majority of folks in the majority of states were fed up with the way things were. Iran has backed down. Kim hasn't tested a missile, and the markets are 'parabolic'. I mean whatever. It could be worse.

Some things may have worked in the past but are not workable now. Not a single person here - dem or republican- thinks that the dems and dem leadership have any goal whatsoever other than to find more material for impeachment. That's what they want out of any notification process, not to help the country protect itself. Frig em. They love the Iranians more than the American soldiers. They think Benghazi was fine, so why is attacking the embassey in Bhagdad not okay. Homey Trump don't play like that. Nor does he notify the House Foreign Affairs Committee when you have Ilhan Omar on it rooting for her team more than the Americans.
Solemeinie was an enemy combatant on the verge of doing more of what he has done for 40 years and Trump took him out. I could not care less whether imminent meant in two hours or two days or two weeks. He needed to be taken out just for what he had already done and what his command and influence status was. You think we took Osama bin Laden out just because something was imminent or had to be imminent? No. It is a given that he was up to no good just because he was still alive. BOOM! And as Mitch said, "I was a Senate leader but I don't recall anyone notifying me before the Bin Laden raid."
